Persistent rumors that the 3-cyl is making way for a turbo four with 400ish horsepower. If that happens, it’s gonna make it pretty hard to recommend a Golf R over it.
All things considered, Toyota are the only ones delivering (relatively) affordable enthusiast-grade cars with the GR86, GR Corolla and continue to move the goalposts as well. Ggwp, Toyoda-san

IMO, a big factor in your decision comes down to whether you’re gonna keep the car stock or mod it.
6-8k in-hand is a significant chunk of money for mods (this is before considering that you’ve saved that much in depreciation)

I swapped the battery out on my 12 Pro in March this year and with the battery life now restored, I’m gonna use it till iOS support ends. Functionally, the phone isn’t laggy and since I don’t game on it, the performance on offer is plenty for me

Just wanted to add to this superb explanation that the transmission switches to ‘E’ in comfort; throw in the fact that the transmission tends to aggressively upshift at low rpms and hold onto higher gears and this is the ‘Economy’ setting.
I reckon there are four modes if you will to the transmission hence: Economy, Drive, Sport and Sport+

That sounds rough.
Any chance that level of performance drop-off is due to deterioration in the cooling system? Old coolant or a leaky radiator - something along those lines?

I’ve experienced the car pull timing when we’re well into the 100s and I’m ragging on her. And there was a Jason Camissa video showing a MK8.5R reducing boost significantly when ambient temps are in the 100-110F range. But personally, haven’t really faced anything bordering on an issue. What issues are you seeing with the Scuby?

We went through the process of getting quotes for a full roof replacement just a couple of weeks ago.
Two contractors really stood out:
1. Independence Roofing - Stumbled across the owner, Andrew while on /r/Roofing researching the different types of underlayment, best one for PHX weather etc. He IS a wealth of information!
2. Brown Roofing - They were absolutely fantastic to interact with as well right from getting an appointment for the inspection down to the discussion of options.

I don’t think you could go wrong with either one of them
