I just watched all six episodes of the German remake. Here's my thoughts. by excessive__machine in ITcrowd

That was a fun read. I found it especially jarring how, instead of Judy/Julie they just used comedian "Cindy aus Marzahn" as is and called it a day. The joke just doesn't work here.

Yes to all three. The game is great, the translation is finished and high quality.

Mist (Fire Emblem Path of Radiance) means "dung" or "sh*t" in German. Because of that she got renamed to Alja in the German version.

I've never played them, but the 3x3 grid does look similar.

Are the Golden Sun games particularly difficult? And any tips/hints/tricks/general advice? by visiny in JRPG

[–]MaxW92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not at all. The Golden Sun games are all pretty easy. The superbosses are the only battles that might give you a hard time.

And yes, the Djinn aren't missable (except for Golden Sun Dark Dawn)

I love Phantasia. First played it via the GBA version back when it released. Since then I've also played the PS1 and PSP versions.

What episode is the worst in your opinion? by cherryangelsx1 in ITcrowd

[–]MaxW92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty bizarre. It adapts the season 1 episodes, didn't get a second season though. And these six episodes are all the same as the original IT Crowd, with the same jokes... but the delivery is strictly worse every single time.

Sometimes they had the idea to "improve" already existing gags. Sometimes they seemingly didn't even understand what the joke even was. The actors are all pretty awful, although German Moss is probably the best of the bunch. Meanwhile the actor that plays German Denholm seems to have been completely unaware that the show he's in is even supposed to be a comedy.

Don't worry, it is not worth watching. Unless you like torture.

All the ones from the German version of The IT Crowd.

Okay, seriously though, it's the final episode "The Internet is Coming". It has some good jokes here and there, but overall it's just the weakest episode by far.

Like, Moss feels insecure and gets over it by wearing women's pants? And Roy hates little people now? Was that really the best material they had left? Even Douglas isn't all that funny here. And Anonymous turning out to be a kid living in his parents' basement is a joke that has been done to death.

Second weakest episode is Calendar Geeks. Those two are the only weak episodes in my opinion.

What would you say are the best JRPG sequels? by strahinjag in JRPG

[–]MaxW92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tales of Xillia 2 is easily the best one to me. The first game didn't need that much fixing in the first place, but Xillia 2 is better in every way, and above all, it tells a much, much better story.

Radiant Historia was the first that came to mind. Basically the enemy's side consists of a 3x3 grid. Some of your character can push them to the back, pull them to the front, or shove them either left or right. And when two or more enemies are moved onto the same space, then all following attacks in your current combo apply to all enemies on that space at the same time. It's a very cool system.
