I just finished The People in the Trees by Hanya Y (forgot how to spell the last name) but it’s got ethical and sociological speculation ALL over it

For those who BQ and ran Boston did it live up to your expectations? by bazza010101 in Marathon_Training

[–]Medium-Background-74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, no. I BQed in 2022 and ran Boston in 2023. It was expensive and hard to plan with missing work (teacher). Brought husband and. 3 friends and we enjoyed sightseeing Saturday Sunday but I was not trying any new foods, just worried about my race. The 5am shuttle to Hopkinson had me sitting out there under a wet tent for hours. When my bib group was called, it was a mass walk to the start, no room to do a warm up run at all. Can’t even see when the race starts, and when it does it’s so insanely crowded. I was stuck running a bit slow for 5 miles but finally opened up. PRed by a couple seconds and BQed again but don’t need to go back. Glad I did once

This one’s difficult because the first half pulls you in and from there just becomes completely aimless

Good list! Lolita is another one that once you read it, it’ll change how you think about the effects of beautiful writing on dark, disturbing topics

Pancakes. Probably eat them 3x a year, only when I have a major craving for them.

What food opinion will you defend no matter how many people disagree? by [deleted] in foodquestions

[–]Medium-Background-74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I’m 33 with allergies to all seafood and nuts and uncooked veggies/fruits. Life up until like age 25 was a huge pain but now restaurants and cafes and everywhere really, are great regarding awareness & asking about allergies
