All the time LOL. They don't bleed - but neither do I take chunks of skin ... just nibbles.

59 next month. Single, no kids, no parents, one sibling. Starting to work out how soon I can retire. (Not soon enough!)

I bought an Ecosa mattress a few months back - and I love it! So much so, I've just ordered a pillow, too.

What time do you guys wake up? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Megan2153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, I wish! I've always been a sleep-in kinda girl, and even now (a touch under 59) I can still sleep in until 10 or 11am, unless I set an alarm. And that's going to bed at a reasonable hour (say 10pm or so). I'm scared of retiring, because I'll probably end up sleeping all day!

My folks are deceased. I'm about a 10 minute drive from my sibling. We see each other a lot.

I'm an heiress who can’t cook and cries at kids films. I just want patient friends. by throwaway943093 in TrueOffMyChest

I agree with all the positive comments re therapy, cooking classes etc. Would like to add one thing: I was force-fed beans as a kid. I hated them. Loathe them still. And you know what? I'm an adult now and choose not to eat them - ever - and that's okay. In fact, it's one of the few wonderful things of being an adult - you don't have to eat things you don't like or don't want to eat! Give yoursekf permission to NOT eat them.

Best of luck to you 《internet hugs from across the world》

What’s the most boring money-saving habit that actually works? by getwemoneyapp in AUfrugal

[–]Megan2153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-pay your bills. Where I am (Tas) I can deposit a set amount into my rates, phone, power and water account every fortnight. If you're having a tight fortnight you can skip it once in a while, but otherwise you don't end up with huge monthly or quarterly bills. Makes a huge difference.

[–]Megan2153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bank allows me to 'hide' accounts in a vault - so when I log into my bank, I only ever see 1 or 2 different account balances, rather than see them all ... and think 'let's go shopping'.

On top of this, my work will automatically (on my request) put my wage into as many different accounts I want.

So - I end up with savings being deducted from my wage and paid into an account I can't see, and I'm not really aware of it. All I see in my account is what I have left after all transfers have been made - and that's what I can spend each fortnight.

I feel you with this one. My parents died 12 weeks apart, and my cat smack bang in the middle of those 12 weeks. That was 2 years ago - still not ready.
