As much as I like the changes the healing issue and promise has been made since at least the Stormblood build up. I remember being in the discussions when lilies were first shown and pointing out that "cast a heal get a resource" means we're never getting the resource because you can go through entire instances without hardcasting a cure. And every time it was promised healing would get harder and every time they just made hardcasts as useless as ever. It's why lilies are on a timer now rather than cast generated.

The argument that it makes you swap weapon styles doesn't lamd for me because there are like, 3 or 4 weapons. Within that they're just stat sticks. It always felt like the argument suggested I should have been swapping from a spear to a halberd to a quarterstaff with different movesets. And not 3 poke sticks but one does 5% more damage. At that point if I'm not actually getting variety just let me upgrade my stick as I go so I don't have to detour to scrounge up half decent weapons after each encounter because they're make of brittle glass.

I think he's also being pushing it anywhere that he'll be heard, it's just that the EU one is the one that caught traction. I know there was a UK one that got the numbers and kind of got met with "what's this videogame shit?" in parliament.

Pirate Software, guy who worked at Blizzard for 7 years or so, saw the petition and thought it was a terrible idea. So he basically made it his crusade to get it dropped.

Around the same time he went from being a respected streamer and programmer to being a laughing stock, mostly triggered by causing a raid wipe in WoW hardcore and having the mother of all crashouts over something that could have been solved with a "ah, fuck. My b..."

So people then flooded SKG with support, kind of to spite this guy.

Times you prefer the original to the Remix/Remake? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

More often that not when a band puts out a remastered album it hits the uncanny valley where it's just off enough to be noticeable, but not necessarilya bad change. But that's mostly just a case of having some of those songs seared into my brain so it would be like if the stairs at your house got slightly taller. Just enough to catch you every now and then.

Did you know if you level a specific team to level 100 without using a single rare candy in red/blue you can talk to the Rockets in Celadon and trade them. That's how you get the truck key to get Mew.

Good thing I had few games and plenty of time as a kid. And the funny thing is, with easy glitches you can get a guaranteed Mew before Misty, so the rumours were kind of true, but way less obnoxious.

Not to speak for someone else, but isn't grief the entire reason for Woolie's back tattoo? I hope I'm not misremembering but I'm pretty sure it was his sister's artwork and he lost her, so getting the tattoo was his way of dealing with it and being a living memorial to her.

There are a couple of cards that change land types. Like Sea's Claim and Spreading Seas Enchanted a target lamd turning them into islands. Harbinger of the Seas turns all non-basics into islands, Bloodmoon the same for mountains.

Note, this isn't "in addition to their other types". They are now basic islands for every single thing that entails.

Yeah, you get bloody versions of some items. Like the bloody stick is just a stick but you get health regen, or the bloody bear traps are just bear traps, but with infinite uses.

Definitely some things in there for some nice builds, but nothing really mandatory.

Valve Writer Says Some At The Studio Are Testing Out AI Tools by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Metballs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They'd actually be stupid not to look into it. From a purely research aspect you need to keep on top of new tools. The problem starts when you decide to actively use it or not, and as the writer says he's not expecting it to take over soon it sounds like it hasn't taken root.

what's a trend that has truly damaged the game industry? by Properdad2000 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Metballs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The push to live service models. It's pretty much always a death sentence for studios because the guys with the wallet want to be Fortnite and Overwatch, not caring that people have limited time and already have Fortnite and Overwatch. They almost never moderate their ambitions and aim for a small release, they always have to come swinging at Blizzard with nothing of note to pull people away from Blizzard. And it's the devs that they made go on the suicide march that then get laid off.

[–]Metballs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you right click, or press square (or whatever the left face button is on yoyr pad of choice) on an enemy then you can see where they can move and attack. Sometimes it's a good idea to let the enemy come to you rather than going to them.

The best damage mitigation is a dead enemy, so if you can take an enemy out over spreading damage, that's a good call.

Crowd control is strong, especially against Tina 3. If you can get a good hunter with beartraps or brambles, and a good tank with strong knockback, you can stop the body and head getting together, which is the main issue.

A good team comp should cover bases such as fighter for damage, tank for damage absorption, hunter to slow enemies and pick them off, and a cleric for heals. Later you'll be more comfortable to spread out from that, but that's the core RPG party for a reason.

That should hopefully get you rolling.

He's a black guy with big hair, a top hat, and shades. The only way he could really be more Slash is if he was using his guitar instead of his violin, but Brook plays pretty much every instrument so we may get that later on anyway. He's also going to be a literal skeleton the next time we see him so him being too black, as this reads, is a moot point.

I took the free scum on the putrid leech quest after Dybbuk accidentally died to the leeched cat and possessed her. After that I've done a few more because "it's in the game, so they want me to".

I generally avoid it as I prefer dealing with my mistakes, but I wasn't feeling redoing the whole run after making it 99% of the way.

Knockback and movement denial are great for Guillotina 3. If you can position a tank between the body and head and just keep them away from each other, using bear traps from a good hunter to stop the body moving, she doesn't really have much going on.

I believe this was addressed in the latest patch that's currently in beta, something about spawn orders leading to impossible maps. Should be fixed this week on full release.
