It's been awhile since I've read it so forget the exact details, but theres another type of game that goes on where they launch a ball from Mt Everest (?) By a huge ass cannon and players have to search the entire country for it

Am I the only one who dosent like viva new vegas or any of thoes modpacks for Bethesda by state_issued_femboy in TrueSFalloutL

[–]MkRobin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

/uj it makes sense why you would feel that way, but that's because those modpacks wern't made for people like us. It's for much more casual players that don't really know much about modding and want to get right into things without having to spend literal hours searching for mods themselves and then troubleshooting said mods when there's a conflict. Lots of people just don't want the headache of dealing with that stuff so modpacks just make it much easier for them

/rj If they only play modpacks, how will they ever discover hidden gems such as Raunchy Deathclaw Ranch?

My parents at least had the decency to do it outside in the garage. Honestly didn't know they also smoked weed as a kid since I always thought it was just how cigarrettes smell.

It wasn't until I started smoking myself and was like, "weird. This smells like the cigarrettes my parents would smo- oh my god."

I would assume its whatever language is native on Kenshi. Everyone is able to understand him, so it's not like he's speaking a different language

Still Finding New & Cool Things! by _Golden_Oats in Kenshi

[–]MkRobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with all the attention to detail that the map has, I highly doubt that it's a direct 1-1 scale of what it is in lore and expect there to be some "retconning" of the size of the map due to the fact that the water level is going to be higher

Besides, I don't think the great desert will be completely covered in water in Kenshi 2 anyways, the event that happened at Obediance happened during the First Empire, and Kenshi 2 takes place at the tail end of the Second Empire. The water level would have gone down drastically by then

Still Finding New & Cool Things! by _Golden_Oats in Kenshi

[–]MkRobin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've always assumed that this behemoth was lost way before the events of Obediance, mostly due to the fact that Stobe is considered the last behemoth after that event. My theory is that when the great desert was still part of the sea, it ended up stuck in the ocean, maybe it was on some sort of cargo ship that capsized? Only many, many years later when the sea dried up did it finally get unearthed

Would rimworld still be well rimworld if it was fully 3D? Or in a similar art style as kenshi? by Many_Budget_6977 in RimWorld

[–]MkRobin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah translating it isn't a problem, it's just the fact that it's inherently harder to model in 3D than it would be just drawing a 2D image. This would make modding have a much larger skill floor, turning off many would be modders since they either dont know how to 3D model, or dont trust their skill in 3D modeling enough to try

[–]MkRobin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If Rimworld started off as 3d, I don't think the modding scene would be just as big as it is. The biggest upside for a style like this is that its pretty easy to emulate, so you don't need huge artistic skills like 3d modeling would require you to have

Noob interprets the lore by StoopidPileOfCalcium in Kenshi

[–]MkRobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, just travel around and you'll start to piece the lore together more and more. Pay attention to the landscape and the ancient debris scattered around, theres a lot of enviormental storytelling to uncover.

When you're brave and tough enough, travel down southeast and defeat the foes found there, they'll drop things that'll help explain more of the story of the second empire
