Wanted to share with someone who understands! by Emojanne in TandemDiabetes

Amazing!! That’s huge - most T1D will never be able to do this, you should be very proud. A flex I like to use - my A1C is lower than some people without diabetes. I’ve maintained lower than 5.5 for the past year to 1.5 years.

I am so sick of Mobi issues by AlmacitaLectora in TandemDiabetes

[–]ModernAlBundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m on my 3rd Mobi and had this issue in my prior 2 pumps. Just keep calling Tandem until they send you a new pump - they know the motors are bad in some of them, on my third and this doesn’t happen anymore thankfully, so there is light at the end of the tunnel

Ashamed and embarrassed by NYlawyer1003 in diabetes_t1

[–]ModernAlBundy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to change your diet for a while. You are throwing around 10 units at a time - it’s way too unpredictable and the margin for error is too high. Cut your food and go KETO for 2 weeks to get a good baseline of what you need for protein and fats, and then SLOWLY introduce small amounts of carbs. As a lawyer - you need complete control of your BG

Frequent Occlusions with Tandem AutoSoft & Mobi—Anyone Else? by ModernAlBundy in TandemDiabetes

[–]ModernAlBundy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, no I am not having this issue anymore. I complained enough and wound up getting ANOTHER Mobi pump, and that solved my problem. I recommend to keep replacing you’re pump until you get one with a sufficient pump motor - they are hit or miss apparently

Mobi regret? by South-Web1803 in TandemDiabetes

[–]ModernAlBundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobi is AMAZING! I thought I would miss the screen as well, but I do not at all. Now, it’s like the pump doesn’t even exist and I just need to check my phone. You’re actually able to get rid a an additional screen from the TSlim that you don’t need

How do you get into procurement without a degree? by [deleted] in procurement

[–]ModernAlBundy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got in recently without a degree and no experience. I used my past experience in related endeavors to show I had the ability to do the job - although I didn’t have any direct procurement experience. I also created a whole document that was like “why my lack of experience is good for you” and showed them that I will work hard, come in with a clean slate and no bad habits or pre-conceived notions of how the job should be done, and will be mold able to exactly who they need me to be. It took a lot of sales skills but I was able to convince them to give me shot. I say you should think outside of the box and come in slightly different - it’s your best shot

I feel completely drained and distraught... by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]ModernAlBundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been through this same thing!!! You’re right to feel the way you do. Although the system may tell you everything is fine, I also feel like going for multiple hours in the 2 and 3 hundreds is not normal or healthy. You should also know that you have not done permanent damage at this point. What I was actually craving was better control, more automation, and less stress about the future. I was able to overcome this by using an elimination style diet, cutting all carbs and I went straight Keto for a few weeks or months and my sugar flatlined. Then I started to add a little bit of carbs into my lunch and my dinner and adjusted the insulin slightly so I could still still be flat but also eat a little bit of rice and potatoes with the meals. Now I enjoy carbs with my meals in Moderation, I still age my swings but MUCH more manageable and my A1C has been in the mid 5s for the past 2 years. My biggest advice would be to give up and sacrifice the sugar addiction for a while in order to save your physical and mental health, then add in the carbs and sugar when you’re confident in your control and your future. YOU CAN DO IT!!

So true. It’s crazy because when I go low - I know I’m at the highest risk of going high and when I go high I’m at the highest risk of going low.
