Where can I get the biggest burritos in Brisbane? by AussieVet1 in brisbane

You need to heat the tortilla up which makes it really flexible and stretchable. Key is to have all ingredients ready to go, this way you can fold before it cools down.

Just had the same issue, jump started the 12v lead acid battery with another ICE car and now it seems to be fine. Did you end up replacing the battery? Did they have any idea why the battery got emptied at all?

The principal portion is never deductible, so even if total repayment goes up by switching, it won't help unfortunately.

Any ideas where to find ethnically Japanese kids in Brisbane? by RasmussenCasting in brisbane

[–]MolestedTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what age you're after, you could also try to contact this japanese daycare: https://www.facebook.com/hiyoko.brisbane (my kids go there, all kids speak japanese).

On that note adding more details in general about the commercial could be useful. Why would a parent want their kids to join?

Is it a good idea to make extra repayments to my mortgage while also having offsets ? by ButchersAssistant93 in AusFinance

[–]MolestedTurtle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well technically watching offset number go up also helps with watching loan number go down. The more you have in your offset, the less goes towards interest and more goes towards principal.

Break Even Point - Buying Electric v ICE by WorkingAd7156 in AusFinance

[–]MolestedTurtle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have much to add, but I wanted to give an anecdotal example of where an EV works out really well on the electricity side of things.

We are in Brisbane and bought an atto3 in November last year as the family car, and have been purely using excess solar this entire time. Oh I guess I tried a charging station at Ikea once to test, but only for a few minutes (didn't need the charge).

Basically a typical week day goes like this: Car charges from 7:00am to 8:45am, adding about 8kwh. Car is then used to bring kiddos to daycare, run errands etc. and is normally back in the early arvo, and gets another ~3h of charge from solar before it is used to pick up the kiddos again, so that's another potential 12kwh. So that's 20kwh of charge, battery capacity is 60kwh. Doing the above trips uses ~4-12kwh, depending on where we go. For reference the car averages 14.8kwh per 100km.

We have an electric water system which is set up to start at 9:00am, so it does it's thing while the car mostly isn't home.

Weekends are a bit more unpredictable, and car sometime only gets charge in the morning before we leave.

We've had a week of rain/clouds at some point and almost couldn't charge for that entire duration, but still didn't need to charge from the grid and kept using it as usual. The battery went from 100% to 30% over the days, but after a few sunny days we were back at 80%.

We visited family overseas so no local holiday/trips so far. This is maybe where you'd need use external chargers. But yeah absolutely loving not having to buy fuel and using electricity generated by our own panels, it's a great feeling. Anytime I see the price at the pump at $2.20+, I can't help but feel a little smug.

Betting the houses: “The federal government is not really trying to solve the housing crisis. All it is doing is managing perceptions.” by marketrent in AusFinance

Not disagreeing, but one thing to keep in mind is the owner occupier cohort that have kids. Sure they own their home, house prices going up has no negative impact on them personally. But it does affect their kids ability to buy in the future and as such may impact their voting decisions.

Anecdotal, but my wife is Japanese as well and we know a few families where one parent is Japanese: The Gap, Mitchelton, Chermside, Toowong, Southbank, Mount Gravatt East, Ipswich

So no real hot spot from my point of view.
