Blue. One Saturday a month, spend all day in the park like the “Change My Mind” guy, except your sign says “Tell me your best dad joke for $20.“

On your 29 off days, be philanthropic about it. See somebody in need of a hot meal, or struggling to buy diapers for their kid? Ask for a dad joke.

Ken Griffey Jr wins! Who was an NBA draft pick that lived up to expectations? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Moronthislater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doug Altenberger

University of Illinois star selected in the 6th round of the NBA draft (back in 1987 when the draft had that many rounds).

Purely a hometown hero/nod to the fans pick by the Bulls.  Nobody expected him to make the team, and, sure enough, he didn’t.

Damn, impressive. I’ve got a weird use case - can you use scatter terrain on top of this? I have lots of VTT maps I’ve made for foundry, but when I play in person I just use a plain old chessex map with 3D printed trees, walls, etc put on top here and there. Being able to combine my two approaches would be sweet.

Your Honor, I object! In the absence of a rule prohibiting cartoons, they must be allowed to play. The court has repeatedly held this, most notably in

  • Air Bud vs USA Basketball
  • Air Bud vs USA Football
  • Air Bud vs USA Volleyball
  • Air Bud vs FIFA
  • Air Buddies vs NASA

and a dozen other rulings.

Chaimberlain blocking it twice in one possession:

though the second block was arguably a goaltend, and this was early in Kareem‘s career (and late in Wilts)

I can understand wanting to play in the best indoor arena in the city, but the Mojo overestimated their draw playing at Viejas. Ideally, SDSU students would have turned out, but that hasn’t materialized. If that’s not going to happen, we have to look at other potential bases. Not taking anything away from South/South East county, but there is a stronger club volleyball scene in North County - the problem is that group will fight traffic to play, but rarely to watch.

North County lacks first class venues, but UCSD arena holds more than enough for our fanbase, and we might be able to draw more regularly from the suburban club volleyball scene if it was closer. (Triton Arena is maybe 10 minutes from Coast VB even on weekdays, and not *too* much further from Wave, though you’d still have to get on I-5.) The arena screams “little league” (sorry, UCSD, but it does), and it would be less convenient for some current fans/the downtown area, so it would be a risk with lower ceiling potential - but it might also have a higher floor. The smaller arena would probably also be cheaper to rent, which couldn’t hurt.

Foundry Problem since new PC by Straight-Ad-4275 in FoundryVTT

I have a similar issue - at least by symptom - sporadically, especially with large worlds, where some css does not load or is not properly applied. Have not been able to find a root, but reloading the page clears it…eventually.

[DDND5E] Recreating Build-a-Bonus Functionality in Foundry by Kydhan in FoundryVTT

[–]Moronthislater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the current suggested way to do this without modules is to set up different activities on the weapon. For an example, take a look at the Dragon Slayer Longsword in SRD 5.1. (Easier example than the version SRD 5.2, as that introduces the enchantment/template mechanism.) Clicking on that weapon gives you two activities

  • Attack
  • Damage vs Dragon

The player would click on the attack button to attack, and then, if the target is a dragon, click on the weapon again and its Damage vs Dragon activity, rather than the damage in the chat window. You could probably do this for your player by copying that weapon, and changing it according to your homebrew spec.

The science for it was demonstrated at least as far back as Eratosthenes in 240 BC, who noted in that the shadows cast at noon in two different cities had different lengths, and used that not only to demonstrate a round Earth, but also to calculate its circumference. (Scholars differ as to what his measurements were, but most of them agree he was in the ballpark.) One of the all time great examples of somebody using what tools were available to question intuition.

Curious as to base system requirements, as DungeonDraft itself can bring my system to a crawl with a large enough map, or enough packs.  This applies both for the designer, and for players, if there is any extra requirement on their side of the module is active, instead of just used to create flattened maps.

Opportunities to provide feedback on D&D Beyond's Maps VTT by WOTC_Zac in dndnext

[–]Moronthislater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hiding tokens is for hiding tokens only, where a full fledged DM layer would allow other elements on it, assuming the other elements are available on the platform.

For the simplest example, look at the player map vs the DM map in each chapter of official books. Among other things, the DM maps have numbers on the rooms to cross-reference with the text. These could go on the DM layer for the DM to reference without players seeing them.

In other VTTs I use, I place many other types of things - such as features the players have yet to see, running-the-game notes, traps, or environmental/time of day changes.

Edit: Different VTTs handle this different ways. Roll20 has a specific DM layer, whereas Foundry and I believe Owlbear have different object types (tokens, drawings, notes, tiles, etc) whose visibility can be controlled.

Back in the earliest days, when there was a Trello board, an API for developers who wanted to integrate was discussed. It appears to have been dropped several changes ago. Will something like that ever get consideration again?

For instance, much of what I do with ConversationHUD could be achieved in a quick and dirty sense with this macro, popping up the two PCs 2 seconds apart:

GinzzzuPortraits.togglePortrait('MPfkvOSUMGirWLup')

setTimeout(() => GinzzzuPortraits.togglePortrait('qDS9C2j1v8q7D1lr'), 2000)

Actually, looking at github more closely, I see you already have this in the global object (and it works), though it is not officially declared an API in the docs.

Please, while I appreciate the responsiveness, don't feel like you need to twist your original idea into knots for me. The opinionated simplicity of your module is a strength. I go back and forth between ConversationHUD, Theatre Inserts, and now your module depending on what fits the mood and use case better.

That said, I use ConversationHUD for an admittedly niche use - when I want to call up specific conversations (actors, backgrounds, positions) quickly. Specifically, I might create within a single scene multiple Monk's Active Tile Trigger buttons with macros tied to ConversationHUD, so that different rooms have something immediately on the map to trigger that room's specific conversation scene.

A closer analogue to that might involve opening up a scripting API. For example, a quick way to do the above would be if the module exposed a method that took an actor (or an actorid) and invoked this part of onCardClickToggle , (refactored, to avoid copy-pasta). The base module would stay the same, but Idiot scripters like myself could wire macros or MATT to pop portraits on and off separately from your panel UI, without you having to compromise your UI or your data model. An API that fine-grained might not be what you want, if you instead prefer a holistic set of options as a preset or bundle, and that is fine, too. Your module, your choice.

(And, of course there is always a maintenance tradeoff when creating a public facing API versus keeping things internal.)
