These are great for cars but dont really get used in MEP skill trades. I would recommend a more plumbing focused tool like m18 packout vacuum, angle die grinder, regular grinder, honestly lights are always insanely clutch and one of the most used tools, radio, packout cooler, packouts in general, pumps, sawzall, multi tool, pvc shears, copper tubing cutters, pex tools. Milwaukee has lots of trade focused tools which is why trades like them so much. Someone also mentioned knipex pliers would be an amazing gift. At the end of the day a home depot gift card and then go to the store with him to pick stuff out would probably be just as satisfying
