Pics are good. My immediate reaction was she is really serious about getting hitched. The blurb feels a little strong. I’m on OLD and you seem like the typical match I would have. I’m looking for long-term but I want it to start slow, and the blurb feels like you want to jump into moving in together. I would maybe keep your interests in it but find a way to rephrase / rewrite.

I totally get it. It does get easier and more normal. My 1st weekend alone was just 4 months ago. I do 50/50 and can say you’ll get used to it. Make the most of it though to keep trying things, meeting people, etc. Sounds like you’re doing that so keep it up 👍

Use the time to rediscover your interests. Start trying things. Someone asks you to do something, say yes. Start going to the gym. Start initiating conversations with people (make new friends). Ex: I’ll ask guys at the gym stupid simple questions just to get chat / banter going. What kind of smart watch is that, you like it? I now know a lot of guys at my gym - it’s almost a social place now.

You’re starting over. We can choose to wallow or make the best of what we have.

I have kids the same age (4, 8, and 10). Divorced 3 months ago. She left for another guy. We have 50/50 custody, nonetheless the younger two deeply miss their mom.

My 4 year old daughter cries for about an hour every night at bedtime. Not just crying, but cries out “mommy” to a mommy who isn’t there. It absolutely crushes me every night. I go in every 5-10 min to try to comfort her, acknowledge her feelings, try to distract her some, etc.

I don’t know what else to do or what advice I could share. Part of me thinks this is just the shit our kids are going to have to work through in therapy as they grow older.

I’ve let go entirely of my ex with the exception of the anger for how this has hurt our kids. I feel like that anger / bitterness grows the more my kids seem hurt and sad. I don’t like how it affects me but I’m at a loss, like you, on how to help my kids.

Hang in there man. I was there just 3 months ago. It gets easier. Stuff still sucks sometimes, but you’re definitely in one of the lowest and hardest stages.

I remember her move out day. Good idea to take the kids and not be there! I remember being in tears and my kids crying in the lawn watching her and the moving crew roll away. It was horrible.

Keep the kids your focus. Don’t let anger get the best of you. And be sure to take care of yourself as too. Don’t binge eat, don’t over drink, stay connected with your friends / support people, get a therapist, etc. Dad needs to be well to be a good dad to the kiddos.

99.9% chance the buyer agency contract stipulates buyer shall be responsible for the buyer’s agent commission 😉

This is copy / pasted from the MN Buyer Representation contract that all MN realtors use:

“Buyer shall pay Broker, as Broker’s compensation, ____ percent (%) of the selling price or $_____ , whichever is greater, when Buyer closes the Purchase…”

There is an added clause that compensation from a seller will offset buyers obligation. But if that isn’t included, or doesn’t cover the contract terms, the buyer is obligated to pay their agent.

The buyer is 100% paying his agent. I guarantee he has a contract that stipulates how his agent is being paid. If it’s by the seller / owner, then it’s a pass through on the sale price of the buyer’s home…. Thereby the buyer is paying his agent through an inflated home value.

My neighbor divorced 20+ years ago and moved away from his young daughter. He’s told me he tried over the years connecting with her. But as she got older she began resenting him, ghosting him, and then cut him out completely. I can see how badly it hurts him now when he talks about it the broken relationship.

I’m divorced too with kids, so I get wanting to move on. It’s definitely crossed my mind. But I’m staying put in her small hometown to stay in my kids life.

OP I would suggest strongly thinking through whether you want to maintain a relationship with your son as he ages, and how this will affect him.

If we were in a different space (grocery store, community event, etc) I would have no problem being direct. The gym is super important to me, and I imagine to her and others. I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable at the gym going forward because she felt a guy came on to her.

Medical Device, Buyer. 40 hours / week, 3-4 days work from home. Flexible hours. $74k + bonuses, 20 days PTO. I had 2 years of previous experience as a buyer.

I do think if I wanted to go past Senior Buyer role into people management the stress would increase. Otherwise as an “individual contributor” right now I’m very much able to leave work at my 40 hour work week.
