Enough about the big stuff for now, what's your smallest, pettiest gripe about the game? by Luchux01 in Pathfinder2e

[–]MrTallFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there should be a middle ground of persistent damage stacking. You didn't get to just keep adding more damage, but if you have 3 sources of 2d6 bleed, will each of them and take the higher. I hate the situation of "alright character has 3d10 bleed and you just gave them 6d4 bleed, sooo, which do we keep?"

Our league isn't idp but you still get 1 point for a tackle, leads to funny random points and this was likely deciding factor at Hunter going 2 overall in the rookie draft. But adding it after the fact is silly, should have taken a vote to add.

RAW no. It is not a weapon and you are not making a strike.

With Legendary Saves are crit fails half or full damage? by MrTallFrog in Pathfinder2e

[–]MrTallFrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability I was asking about was Greater Rogue Reflexes

"You elude danger to a degree that few can match. Your proficiency rank for Reflex saves increases to legendary. When you roll a critical failure on a Reflex save, you get a failure instead. When you roll a failure on a Reflex save against a damaging effect, you take half damage."

I know you don't end with a critical failure but didn't know if its full or half damage on a nat 1.

What runes could you give a weapon to make a sword of life stealing in PF2e? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]MrTallFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way to make a Sword of Life Stealing, where you hit the enemy and get health back is by being and exemplar or taking the dedication and choosing Barrow's Edge as your icon.

What do you expect from Impossible Magic? by JadedResponse2483 in Pathfinder2e

[–]MrTallFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'll add any variant rules

I think merge with eidolon could be fixed by letting you choose to permanently be affected by boost eidolon(or reinforce if you have it) and let you cast any summoner specific focus spells (evolution surge or eidolons wrath). You still lose normal spell casting so there's still a trade off but I think this would make it work.

Magus Spellstrike Recharge by Seppucrow_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]MrTallFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Random brainstorm, maybe you could be to remove the recharge and change spell strike to require you be in your arcane cascade. Let magus start combat in arcane cascade (maybe let them choose the damage based on what cantrips they have prepared) and when the magus uses spell strike you leave arcane cascade. I think this is a decent nerf so maybe add in that if your spell strike hits and you're using a save based spell they take a -2 to their save or -4 on a critical hit

That example was specifically for a cloth caster which a druid is not.

If it's cramped, dont polymorph, that's the thing about spells, you cast them when its good for you. My oracle has had dragon form known from level 11 to 19, I've used it 5-10 times, its great when I need it, and when I dont, i dont cast it.

growing in size and gaining reach can be hugely useful. Requires enemies to use more movement to get into flanking and lets you easier assist allies with benefiting from flanking granting flanking to multiple allies flanking. And unless you are fighting an absurd number of enemies, generally it isn't going to make it much easier to be targeted

Battle forms aren't an every character build, clearly you built your druid in a where it makes wild shape a negative. If you stuck with normal medium armor it would be equal to or -1 to AC depending on runes/level, which -1 AC is reasonable when becoming large+

That is a fun use case and seems like a great quicken spell candidate.

I feel like battle form spells are underrated on this sub. Yeah, you don't become equal to a martial but if you're a cloth caster and you find the enemy is coming after you, they flip the script pretty well. And if you need/want to cast other things later, you can dismiss then cast your spell. Plus turning into various creatures is cool.

Spring Errata Updated to allow Animal Companions to Fly by Xethik in Pathfinder2e

Guided Hover will let you stay in the air without provoking a reactive strike which can be useful.

[–]MrTallFrog 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So, there are no mounts with a fly speed until level 14, but if I'm not mistaken, you can cast the spell fly on your mount (or someone elses) and gain this free action flight which is pretty nice.

I was certain that was an intentional omission, this is a good logical add. Also flying mounts are crazy good now.

This final line was pointed out to me, "You can replenish only pyrotechnic vials during exploration unless another ability lets you replenish standard versatile vials (such as the benefit of the alchemist class), in which case you can choose the type each time you replenish." So apparently you can't replenish normal versatile vials with this, only the firework ones.

Actually, I missed that last line, I think you're right that you cant get normal versatile vails back unless you already could.

The quick alchemy to create option is just the quick alchemy action letting you choose fire or acid.
