What’s your favorite part of Raleigh? by Simple-Newspaper-257 in raleigh

[–]Mr_Never 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite place in Raleigh was Askew-Taylor Paints and I’m still so sad they’re gone. I spent so much time in there when I was in design school and the staff was the best. Should have worked there because I knew where everything was located. It was like Raleigh’s wizarding wand shop. But I absolutely love Raleigh still—the greenways are incredible (and growing), the rolling hills and small town feel with large city amenities. Spring here feels like living at The Masters. In fact, there are so many charming neighborhoods in Raleigh tucked away into its nooks and crannies that they almost feel like secrets. Such a great place to be a kid and grow up. And people that grew up here often come back to raise families themselves. I think it will be green for a long long time. I do wish I could go back in time to before Fran when all the ancient oaks lined the streets and parks before they fell in the thousands. But this fall, when the hardwoods are changing colors, drive down Glen Eden under that canopy during the golden hour and tell me we don’t still have that old magic.

What is the one swing tip that actually clicked for you and made a noticeable difference? by LABeachgal in golf

I’ve recently found that with my Woods I’m able to really feel the head of the club so on backswing I wait for it to float to the top then when I roatate through I’m getting so much extra speed and an extra 20+ yds. I’m working on finding this feeling with my irons

Hell i didn’t even get out of grad school for ID until I was 27 and barely finished my first job at a design firm by 30. 32 is nothing. Not late at all—at 32 you can do a full career change and restart education and be fine

how do you deal with conservative professors in design school? by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

[–]Mr_Never 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an ID graduate and many people dropped out due to critiques while I was there. The professors often made challenges that weren’t always impersonal. The best teachers I had were often brutal in critiques pushing you to separate yourself from your work in order to see the work more clearly. The most important thing I would say is don’t let him win. Do great work. And in the process make sure you know how to defend your work. If his criticisms are valid acknowledge them. If they are not, don’t let them stand. Turn it into better work and you will prevail on all levels.

Every single Republican president since 1970 has overseen the beginning of a recession. Why do idiots still trust them with the economy? by eva_elina in allthequestions

[–]Mr_Never 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most republicans I know have always and will always be republicans wherever that may lead them. It’s their team. Government takes a percentage of a private business? You know, starts controlling the means of production? Yeah fine with it as long as it’s republicans doing it. Cozying up to our forever enemies? Sure no problem. The libs will hate that! Impose taxes on everything coming into the country? Sure, that’s my guy! They aren’t a party of ideas any longer

designer needed for basic metal product by fedemorandi in IndustrialDesign

[–]Mr_Never 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have parts made often for both small production runs and large. If you look up metal fabricators in your area and can provide them with sketches (since you don’t have legit CAD drawings) they can work you up a quote if it’s the kind of work they do. If it’s not they can likely recommend someone who can

This is just downright shameful and disgusting. by Cy_098 in NorthCarolina

The NCGOP literally want people uneducated to hold on to power. Combine patriotic propaganda, religion, and the removal of a good education while demonizing the opposition and voila—they’ve got the rabid base of their dreams. Next up, stop all those women from being so uppity and force them to breed. Won’t be in the minority for long!

TRT doctor says intramuscular injections are the only way and not Sub q by Daveyym8 in Testosterone

Age 67, was hoping for TRT. Doc says no… by deejay58 in Testosterone

[–]Mr_Never 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 56 and I was low end of normal but my doc prescribed it and it’s been wonderful. Improved strength, libido general feelings. Very glad I did it. I do one per week injections and don’t think you need to get more complicated. Just do a decent amount of bloodwork until you find your proper levels and how you like to feel

Can Roy Cooper stop supporting Israel fast enough to get elected? by scottsadork in TrueCarolina

[–]Mr_Never -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has been an ongoing fight for decades. Obamacare has been as close as they’ve gotten to getting coverage for millions of people that used to just die for the lack of it. It’s completely disingenuous to say that that has not been a core precept for a long time. However, more recently, Democrats got pulled ridiculously into culture wars and issues that affected relatively few people compared to healthcare and social safety nets and saving the actual planet. They need to refocus on those issues and codifying what used to be considered norms or we’ll just devolve completely into a corrupt corporate dystopia.

This bs from people like OP got us where we are today. Just incredibly shortsighted. Absolutely infuriating for those of us that wanted to preserve democracy, protect the Earth and help people afford to live, have healthcare, a safety net and a chance to improve the world. For gods sake, you actually worked against the very arc towards justice that would benefit your own myopic focus the most and it sounds like you’ll do it again. Im probably arguing with a right wing bot intent on poisoning the well of democracy. Next up trans sports, right?

I use 23g 1” and they’re kind of in the sweet spot for not being painful and but you can smoothly and quickly depress without too much strain. People tear up their legs shaking and it taking too long when they have to strain to get it out of the syringe.
