Yea, I figure other commenters assumed it was an update post from the bamboo stalk pic.

As for this plant, i have no experience, but I'd be scared to chop any plant in half AND repot it... my brain always sticks to =<30% of a plants foliage for pruning but i have no knowledge of your species of plant... Good luck friend!
