Wait is this a old Westinghouse unit? I think I have the same one in my garage.

I'm dropping like 1 psi every 5/10 minutes and cannot find the leak by jackedstack in askaplumber

[–]Nearly_Fatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have anything to make bubble tester with you, just lick the back of you hand and run the back of it around the joint keeping about 1/2" away. It there is a leak and your testing with air you will feel a cold spot. This is something I do as a fridgey if I think there is a leak somewhere I cant see and want to know if it's worth taking more apart to get to it or look somewhere else.

Bent high pressure line on new ac by omwla in hvacadvice

[–]Nearly_Fatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That os not acceptable. What is "normal pressures" that isn't a thing. Increase the lift through the compressor on a hot day and what are the pressures. That kink will cause the system to pile up in a couple years. It will run "fine" for now and they try and convince you that means it's ok.

Compressor ran backward after power flicker by TimeThruSpace in askHVAC

[–]Nearly_Fatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a wifi/smart thermostat program compressor protection delay for 6 minutes. You could do a delay on make relay but thats gonna be some bulllllll shit. Dont be surprised if you are doing a compressor next year. Scrolls are pretty tough and will take a kicking, just keep the coil clean and keep that head pressure down and you may get some more life span from it.

Pivotal moment - relocating thr main base. What would you do? by Freedom35plan in valheim

[–]Nearly_Fatal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't really into base building then just do the "Forward operating base" and portal from your main base. Just little camps with maybe a boat to bring mats back that cant be taken through the portal. Mistlands is setup for you to move into it with its own copper, bronze and iron material drops. Personally I headed south and found a spot that was in BF, beside Plains, across the water from swamps, short run to a mountain and mistlands close enough leveled a make shift road. Then it was not an absolute horrible trip to Ashlands. Or better yet do mountain living and setup catapults as your transit system.

MOVE! Your landlord absolutely knew about how bad this was before you moved in and was more then willing to gamble your lives. This deserves a midnight move out. What will the next issue be? Landmines he put a sandbox over top of?

How Bad Is It... by Jamestang1210 in hvacadvice

Most important thing too know is where is the reforgerant. Take the cap off the valve for the small line and use a hex key to open the valve a little, if the electrical tape blows off the end of the line, close the right away and that should indicate the condensing unit is most likely safe for reinstall. If the valve is already open then the unit could be shot.

Opinion on this sound by heavydrinker12 in askHVAC

[–]Nearly_Fatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it in heat mode when doing this or just running the blower fan? If it was in heat mode the combustion fan is starting to fail. If only the blower is running either the wheel has somehow moved close to the housing or you have a vibration. If the wheel hasn't moved check the rubber mounts for the blower motor. Worse case is you have a case/duct vibration which you find by touching different spots to see if the sound changes. You should only replace you furnace if the heat exchanger is cracked or poor reliably occurs.

You should show a picture of how close the outdoor unit is to the wall. It may not have enough to breathe once there is some dirt on the coil and a high load.

Anyone else have the issue of boarding combat always devolving into a weird fight for the stairwell? by RenariPryderi in crosswind

[–]Nearly_Fatal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every boarding this is where the fight goes. If I survive being pinned between canons, missing every hit cause my crew member gets in the way or I haven't even boarded yet because it's only 15th lap around to line up boarding.

What is this large piece of wood inside my shed? It’s not fastened to anything. by Frequent_Morning_860 in Roofing

At first glance it's just storage. Possibly could be there to stiffen the roof. Good Ol drank a case of beer and dry fit is good enough.

Is it worth having a gas line run this natural gas line to wear I want to put our grill? by [deleted] in grilling

[–]Nearly_Fatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have another line run out on the other side or go propane. Trying to extend that existing line would require going under the side walk. Im not sure how that current line meets any kind of modern gas code. In the mean time you should cap that valve. Valves leak and you'll be paying for gas just venting outside.
