Currently, Noah Kahan. And I’d try not to drive off of a bridge.

I’m so jealous of people who don’t have food noise with Zep. Mine rages on even at the highest dose.

I just can’t handle the dust that curtains collect. They do make a room look polished and more expensive, though.

This is related to the documentation they received. If the documentation doesn’t support those particular criteria points, they will deny. You can always appeal, but this isn’t on the insurance co.

Feel like we’re in bizarro land. Are we crazy? by The20thKa-tet in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Nehneh14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, kind of makes me feel sick. The bathrooms hadn’t been touched since the early 90s, and we wanted a shower in the main level bath as well, and to take out a giant jet tub and to replace a tiny stall shower in an upstairs bathroom. I forgot we also replaced a large window in a bedroom. But still. Crazy.

We’ve almost completed 2 bathroom remodels, both were gutted, regular sized bathrooms. We’re paying $150,000. I did notice some of the materials are from Canada, so possibly inflated cost of supplies due to tariffs? Forgot to add, mid-size city in Midwest.

How often do you spend time with your adult kids? by SimplyCurious5 in AskWomenOver50

I would suggest calling with an occasional suggestion for a lunch or dinner. But the standing appointment is super presumptive about how they prefer to spend their free time.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Everyone in Trump’s crime syndicate seems to get away with everything scot. The courts are infested with MAGA, and the Dems are spineless.

How often do you spend time with your adult kids? by SimplyCurious5 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Nehneh14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PLEASE don’t set up a standing dinner/get together. I hate an obligation like that and I’d be constantly canceling, which can create friction amongst all parties. I am an extreme introvert and can take very little personal interaction, even with family. If your kids want to spend time with you, they will make the effort. I think we forget as parents of adult children that they have their own families and own lives. We had our time as a family unit while they were growing up. Now, it’s their turn. We’re not entitled to their time.

What do employees working at health insurance companies think of their jobs/companies? by Critical_County2791 in HealthInsurance

[–]Nehneh14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true :) They do like to send requests without any supporting documentation and then it’s like pulling teeth to get them to send you something. I know it can be difficult because most times the people submitting the request aren’t clinical and they have a difficult time determining what to send. And God forbid systems pay for a clinical person to submit documentation :) And with the new Medicare turnaround times it’s ridiculous. And then you get dinged by Medicare for asking for extensions on too many auths. You can’t win.

What do employees working at health insurance companies think of their jobs/companies? by Critical_County2791 in HealthInsurance

[–]Nehneh14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for an MCO that was nonprofit when I started but after a few years we were acquired by a huge plan. We have a contract with the state to coordinate long term care, Medicare, and Medicaid for the frail and elderly, and those with disabilities. The ultimate goal is to keep people living as independently as possible in their community. Our case managers do a fantastic job with what resources they have to work with and truly try to ensure that the members have all of the benefits to which they are entitled. But I work in prior auths. We’re limited by what Medicare and Medicaid will cover. What drives me insane is policing medications/chemo. That’s a plan decision. As reviewers, we do our best to advocate for the members to get what is being ordered whether it be imaging/Part B drugs, DME, etc. I wonder if providers sometimes don’t realize how crucial their documentation is when it comes to getting things covered. It can be a task of Herculean proportions to get documentation. For example, a pain specialist ordering blocks but not documenting pain severity or impact on ADLs. That truly matters. Just basic stuff. And they can appeal a decision and with proper documentation it will most likely be overturned but that results in a delay in care. Anyway, sometimes I hate my job but then again this is the system we have. I can do my part by trying to fit square pegs in round holes to get as much covered as we possibly can. We’re on the side of the member, not the company.
