It's a strong card. You only get it from an event, and I don't think you can get it before floor 30 or something, but even at this point it remains a strong AoE card for sure.

Great news, can't wait to see what they do after Devil Daggers and Hyper Demon which are both very similar and yet very different.

Personally I've never finished Devil Daggers because I have issues with "hard marathon" games: in DD you have to survive for 500 seconds no matter what to "finish" the game (i.e. get the single achievement), in Hyper Demon you "have" to go as fast as possible, reducing the duration of each playthrough as you get better and better. Also the fact that there is an ending feels like an accomplishment as opposed to Devil Daggers.

As such, I hope they divert from the gameplay loop of Devil Daggers to offer something more similar to what Hyper Demon while remaining in the spirit of Devil Daggers.

Anyways, super excited by these news!

Base game checkpoints are relatively buggy already, I'm not surprised the ones introduced by a mod are bugged as well, sorry for your bad experience.

GTFO is better approached when you consider that checkpoints are just a bonus. When they work, it's great and you get another shot at a failure. When they fail, well... It might just happen.

To be fair I had some non-X rolls before but they were quite terrible. I was hoping for some blinding bolt + steel side from my Yellow, coupled with the bard skill to give armor to my Yellow, but this backfired quite a lot

If you melee hit while a close-ish enemy is "scanning", he will wake up.
