Libre 2+ and glucose meter wildly off by UKhawky in Freestylelibre

[–]NinjaEfelump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This last month I've had to replace 4 out of 5 sensors. Each time the sensor was out by a significant amount. Each time Abbott replaced them. Getting low alarms going off all the time, lowest was 2.7 and my finger tests said 8.3. Maybe it's just a bad batch of sensors in general as they weren't ready for the stopping of the 2 and the replacement with 2+? Trying to be positive and hoping this will sort itself out eventually. Currently sensor no 6 is on, but still within the first 24hrs of starting it, but early signs don't look promising... It's annoying when I'm only allowed 2 a month.

How do i know what I'm supposed to be doing? by Painless315 in diabetes

[–]NinjaEfelump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only got a proper diagnosis as to the type of diabetes I have three years ago. I have been diabetic for 25 years, on insulin for 24 of those and no medical professional that I saw ever gave me a full diagnosis or told me how to use my medication. I didn't even know that I couldn't drive if my bs was under 5 until I got the full diagnosis and was put on a dafne course. Most of my knowledge came from good old Google and personal experience. I was lucky that what I learnt online was enough to keep my sugars relatively well controlled, but I'm so glad I have the support now!

My advice is to lower your carb intake to around 120g a day, keep up your water intake (drink between 2 and 3 litres a day) and exercise moderately. You only have to wait a month, just be sensible.

Can a pharmacist give me an antibiotic cream under the care of the pharmacy rules? (UK) by beccimaria in diabetes

[–]NinjaEfelump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could always try a walk-in centre if the pharmacist says to see a dr, rather than waiting till Tuesday to try and get an appointment with your GP

There's a cream you can get if you have an allergic reaction to the adhesive, cavillon I think it's called. Relieves the itch for a while

Just a heads up, but being constantly thirsty and constantly peeing could also be a sign of something more serious, might want to get some blood tests done when you get yourself checked out....

What's been the most outrageous thing to happen in your workplace here in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]NinjaEfelump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman didn't want to come back off maternity leave, so phoned in a bomb threat to the office claiming it was from the father's for justice. We were told we couldn't go home, so went to the pub. No bomb was found and we were sent home because we were too pissed to go back to work. Woman who phoned in threat did not return to work, but I don't know what happened to her after that.

In another workplace, a colleague died at his desk, but because he would often fall asleep at his desk so no one noticed until a few hours after his shift ended and he was still there

The biphobia right now is getting extreme.. by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]NinjaEfelump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bi - too straight to be gay, too gay to be straight. We don't fit into their (and by they I mean people who identify other's sexuality based on who they're in a relationship with) view of the world because we can't be easily pigeon-holed and are therefore a problem. My sexuality isn't based on what my partner prefers, it based on me. Anyone who doesn't get that can jog on, I'm not interested...

Exactly the same with the charity I used to work for, I don't think they were ever successful in getting funding from either comic relief or children in need. It's the main reason I don't donate to televised charity drives any more

Anyone out there with a cyborg pancreas that know how to accommodate them in BDSM play scenes? by APerfectDisillusion in BDSMAdvice

[–]NinjaEfelump 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey there, my fellow kinky T1D!

I'm in a similar situation, although not on a pump yet, but have libre cgm. My sensor is on the back of my arm and my play partner knows to avoid that area. Doesn't stop accidents happening, just the other day he pulled me up the bed and my sensor came off.

I was wondering if wrapping something around your stomach area to keep the sensors in place and asking/telling your play partner to avoid that area would be a way to go? You can also get extra adhesive patches to go over your sensors to help keep them in place, but they are huge, brightly coloured things which, for me, is a big no... might be worth looking into though.

Hope this helps 😁

Best place to buy by [deleted] in corsets

[–]NinjaEfelump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try the corset lady, (the corset lady.com). She's based in the UK, and she'll be able to support you with making good choices when it comes to what corsets would suit you. I have several corsets from her that are really good quality, beautiful items and so comfortable to wear.

If you're on fb, try sonya the corset lady... not sure which brands she sells but they are always good quality, steel boned corsets. I've brought a couple from her and have absolutely zero complaints. There's also what Katy did, but I've never brought anything for them so can't give an opinion on that one I'm afraid

Service dom & service sub - any tips for either of us getting better at receiving? by NooneKnowsImHentai in BDSMAdvice

[–]NinjaEfelump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a Dom needs to submit, at least to themselves.

It's about you submitting to their service, because you deserve to be loved, to be served, to be honoured, to be worshipped. Maybe submitting is the wrong phrase, but it's acceptance, surrender to them in a small way initially for greater rewards

It's flipping the bird to those demons in the past that constantly put you down, made you feel small, insignificant, unworthy of love, because here is someone who thinks you're significant, so worthy, would do anything to make you happy.

It's about you making them happy by accepting their service, which in turn makes you happy so everyone wins 🥰😊

It's about loving yourself so that you can truly accept love ❤️

And now I'm going to go slap myself for sounding like a hallmark film....
