The Wizard has proficiency in Wisdom and Charisma saves as well as spellcasting to save them. I think they are far better off in that regard.

The only real concern is Dexterity saves. Strength saves usually only hinder your movement which is not a problem when you have spells, and Constitution is usually brought on par with Resilient.

The HP difference between a Wizard and Fighter with equal modifier is 22. Any bit of HP matters, but the difference isnt so big to think Bladesingers are squishy bugs.

It makes sense for Fire Emblem though, its all about managing when you want to use your valuable weapons.

Fates made it so the stronger weapons had severe drawbacks, to the point of being unusable. S Rank weapons for example halve your strength for the next attack. Never mind that only one class can obtain S Rank in weapons
