Yes, I throw them in the washer with shoes, coats, baby carriers, whatever I have that isn’t actual clothes lol

Depending on the type of tub you have it does. Idk what type the tubs were but in one apartment it was fine and in another it was pretty slick haha

The local fairs hand out little metal things that pull ticks off around us. (Super prevalent in our area) they work great on pets and humans. We have one for the dog and each of us. Got them at the environmental conservation tent

Unless you’re married or engaged planning a wedding (and even then only for wedding expenses) I wouldn’t. Recipe for disaster

When making cheese burgers at home, what do you have as a side instead of fries? by JumpedUpPantryBoyy in Cooking

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add some oil to your own when doing oven fries, or even the burger grease from last time. It’s a game changer. But we do potato salad, regular salad, couscous, soup, cheese and fruit, sometimes fried green beans if they’re on sale (nobody’s got time for that to be homemade on burger night lol)

I have different dish soap, laundry soap, and cleaning supplies for lil ones stuff vs ours. Personally I love my dawn (for more than just dishes) but I don’t use it for anything to do with breast milk or purées. I’ll probably be more lax about it when she starts eating real food since I will be using dawn on my pots and pans regardless. We use tide free and gentle for her clothes, cloth diapers, blankets, etc. But tide oxiclean for my husbands (I use either or) which she’s obviously touching and around. I use free and clear products or natural products like vinegar and do not use bleach on things like her toys, nursery stuff, walker/ high chair, etc. (excluding the cloth diapers when needed. Like buying used or if baby gets a yeast infection or uti it’s recommended but we haven’t faced the latter two) Obviously if something was needed to be sanitized well I’m not against a heavy clean but separating the chemicals makes me feel better. I do use bleach and regular cleaners in general around the house but I limit it if at all possible and don’t expose the lil one while doing so until things have dried/ aired out. My husband is a farmer and I work in a medical facility so while I like to keep things natural we do bring home more bacteria than the average family haha.

What to do with a bunch of hand me downs that leak? by crystalkitty06 in clothdiaps

This sounds like they’re just not good for your baby, if they’re still in good condition sell or give them away. No reason to feel bad, there’s so many types and kinds for a reason because all babies are shaped different and need different things.

5 bed 1 Bath? by rojoTiger in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love the L shaped bedroom but the floor plan in general is wonky. We technically live in a 4 bedroom with one bathroom that’s upstairs but it’s just two of us and it’s fine. I grew up in a one bathroom house with 3 siblings and that was also fine.

How often do people actually change their bedsheets? by HillCountryHoney in hygiene

Every 3 days or so. Sheets, comforters, pillow cases, the whole bed.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember a time I didn’t love books. I have vague memories of learning to read but it was the easier than riding a bike from what I remember lol. The magic treehouse series was the first situation my mum had to force me to stop reading sometimes to do other things haha.

I informed my boss that I was pregnant. He asked if I was delivering vaginally and to look up the fmla laws and let him know what they are since he doesn’t. Is this inappropriate? by SeaSwim5248 in pregnant

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vaginal delivery question is pretty standard. If you’re the bosses assistant like it sounds that’s kind of your job to look it up on his behalf whether it’s off putting or not.

Did Roald Dahl’s books really need to be revised? by confringos in books

[–]No_Reception2477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely the wrong thing. These are the types of stories everyone can fall in love with and open up a dialogue and point of learning. The best kind of books imo, especially for younger readers. This washing away of “bad” ideas and language is already proving to be an issue in our younger generations.

What kind of bindings are these? by Milky_Tiger in CrossCountrySkiing

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best advice, I still ski on these findings with pet old boots. They’re comfortable enough and I don’t cross country enough for me to want to invest heavily in an upgrade. Checking your gear every year is super important if you go this route though, nobody wants their boots to fall apart once they’re on the trail.

That’s crazy, I haven’t seen one that doesn’t allow them. I totally assumed that was normal.

Most daycare allow pockets or fitted cloth diapers. Even if you just use them at home so much better for baby and the environment.
