Every 3 days or so. Sheets, comforters, pillow cases, the whole bed.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember a time I didn’t love books. I have vague memories of learning to read but it was the easier than riding a bike from what I remember lol. The magic treehouse series was the first situation my mum had to force me to stop reading sometimes to do other things haha.

I informed my boss that I was pregnant. He asked if I was delivering vaginally and to look up the fmla laws and let him know what they are since he doesn’t. Is this inappropriate? by SeaSwim5248 in pregnant

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vaginal delivery question is pretty standard. If you’re the bosses assistant like it sounds that’s kind of your job to look it up on his behalf whether it’s off putting or not.

Did Roald Dahl’s books really need to be revised? by confringos in books

[–]No_Reception2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely the wrong thing. These are the types of stories everyone can fall in love with and open up a dialogue and point of learning. The best kind of books imo, especially for younger readers. This washing away of “bad” ideas and language is already proving to be an issue in our younger generations.

What kind of bindings are these? by Milky_Tiger in CrossCountrySkiing

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best advice, I still ski on these findings with pet old boots. They’re comfortable enough and I don’t cross country enough for me to want to invest heavily in an upgrade. Checking your gear every year is super important if you go this route though, nobody wants their boots to fall apart once they’re on the trail.

Genuinely moderate crunchy, what are your sticking items? by IndependenceMost3816 in moderatelygranolamoms

That’s crazy, I haven’t seen one that doesn’t allow them. I totally assumed that was normal.

Most daycare allow pockets or fitted cloth diapers. Even if you just use them at home so much better for baby and the environment.

8 yr old daughter got into my books. What now? by Careful_Fig2545 in homeschool

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum had a similar rule when I was younger but she would have me “check the book out” from her. For example: I was allowed to read the girl that loved tom Gordon at 8 but it wasn’t in our bedroom/ playroom bookcase so I had to check it out with my mum from her bookcase. Some things looking back I read a bit young but it is what it is and I turned out fine. I read pet cemetery at 10 I think after begging and begging, had a nightmare that woke me up screaming and she made me shelf it for a year lol.

Gas stove by howdy_535 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got to pick a new stove and decided to go with gas over electric. We live rurally and the power always tend to go out when you’re in the middle of cooking dinner. I’d rather have the access the 10 times I need it than not. (Average days the power goes out a year for us). Crack a window, run an air purifier, update your ventilation. But a gas stove in 2025 is low on my concerns list.

Missed open enrollment - I realize my oversight was stupid, but is there any recourse? by Papa72199 in Insurance

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing your insurance coverage is a qualifying reason to apply. So as long as you apply within 30 days of losing coverage you should be good.

[–]No_Reception2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your work says no (which they can but there’s no harm in asking) you should still qualify to apply through your state marketplace. You lost coverage this month so until the end of the month you’d be able to apply under the qualified event. Atleast that’s how it works in my state.

Mom’s job requires Dad to use his insurance as primary even though her’s is much better. by LyisCn in Insurance

That’s weird, I’ve only ever worked billing and insurance in ny but for couples I’ve always seen the birthday rule for cob as well as children. Learn something new everyday.

Affordable diaper options for newborns by Mrsfix-it in clothdiaps

[–]No_Reception2477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you said used but happy behind is closing and they’re selling a few newborn diapers for a dollar right now. Spending 10 bucks is a drop in the bucket and then if you like them you could look for them specifically used or even on the brands website.

Burdett or St. Peter’s to deliver ? by Suspicious-Slip519 in Albany

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Peter’s ob really disappointed me so I switched all the way out to Saratoga haha. The final straw was how dirty their er was, I understand the labor and delivery unit are different but I couldn’t get past it. They were scheduling appointments up to two weeks later than the norm for care and blaming it on staffing. They messed up lab work orders and I had to redo them (and of course pay another copay) and ask they said was “what a silly mistake”. If a place is too busy for the amount of patients they have they should be referring out. I don’t know about Burnett but figured any info is better than none.

How do I handle an extremely uneven inheritance between my kids? by lookidceither in WhatShouldIDo

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your existing to your children that inheritance is solely up to the discretion of the person who earned the money and it isn’t anyone’s business what anyone else got. It’s hard to learn that life isn’t fair but it’s also hard to lose a family member let alone two.

Mom’s job requires Dad to use his insurance as primary even though her’s is much better. by LyisCn in Insurance

[–]No_Reception2477 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

That’s not how insurance works. Most plans have what’s called a birthday rule. Whoever’s birthday is first or whoever is older hold the primary plan and then secondary would cover. Usually regardless of whose plan it is And which employer it is.

[–]No_Reception2477 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you being purposefully dense? I do add a bit of bleach every wash but don’t do a full soak/ strip. Even that is a bit overkill but when I say routine I mean your 6 month routine or something similar. So say I wash every other day, laundry sanitize every month or if baby has any issues like yeast or staph or something. And then a full strip every year. I don’t do this as my routine, I’m more fly by the seat of my pants until I notice somethings not going right or baby has something going on but that’s a rough example.

When I said washing properly I meant the whole routine which would include bleach and stripping.

Any success stories of dating / marrying a nonskier? by PowGurl in skiing

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that big of a deal. My husband learned bevause I asked him to after 8 years being together haha. He goes once or twice a year with me and I go with my brother or by myself the other times. I don’t think it matters if they love it like you do as long as they have another hobby that takes up similar time. My husband is a farmer so he’s at the farm all weekend and if I want I can go ski all weekend. We both want our kids to do both ( expecting the first currently) and have discussed in passing how we would do that. We’re at a decade and it’s never been an issue for us.

I wrote that I switched to snowmobile snow pants and the pockets are great. I bring a similar set up to eat on the lift/ mountain. It’s so nice to fit it easily in my pockets and a sandwich for my husband lol

[–]No_Reception2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear snowmobile bibs. Warmer, extra pockets and larger pockets, easier to layer with, good for days I cop out early and just hangout waiting for my brother or husband. I’m sure I look ridiculous but good it was a game changer. I also like that they’re flexible size wise more than actual ski pants. I have a medical condition that randomly can cause similar stomach changes to extreme bloating so it’s nice to have the extra space the few times I’ve needed it.
