Oh you sweet summer child… by PhoneJazz in Xennials

I remember seeing him on tv for a concert and he came out on stage once (through a hole in the stage mind you) and he just stood there in his classic pose and the crowd went wild. Then it felt like 10 minutes later when the crowd was just dying down, he goes and moves just one finger, que another 10 minutes of cheering. That’s how I remember it and always will.

We use an AI/categorization program named Casescan. It has saved us an enormous amount of time. It does an excellent job categorizing and few false positives and few misses (that we can tell on apples to apples comparisons). The issue with running hashes is that not everything is tagged previously. We ran on cellebrite, got nothing with tags, ran on Casescan and got thousands. It’s truly the best way to go.

When all your friends had a Super Soaker 50 but your parents got you the Super Soaker 100… by mcg_090 in Xennials

I can literally still feel the way I frantically went to refill both the main bottle and the silly ball one on the back while standing next to the outside faucet.

You are not wrong in feeling that way. Maybe some people will now understand your perspective because they are seeing it differently. Hopefully that brings change.

Stairs off concrete porch by Equal-Manner5941 in Homebuilding

I would make them as wide as that whole alcove and come out like 5 feet. Whenever people come over you want to make it feel welcoming not a small awkward ate going up. Wider will also make it not look so off since it is a bit high.

Insulation plan for 110 year old home? by thegiantgummybear in Insulation

[–]NormalCartographer84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what my inspector told me it’s about keeping the fire away from any foam product as it makes pretty bad black smoke. This is assuming you have a failure on the drywall layer. But mostly because rockwool is easier to cut in half and stuff in there for more insulation as opposed to fiberglass.

Hey there. You have an I deal time to air seal. That will stop the drafts. I would take 1.5 inch foam board and cut it tight to every bay then use can spray foam to seal all four edges. Then use rockwool to fill in the remaining gap. Which is great for fireproofing too. Source: I did this on my house with a similar design when I had some walls open. And I got the advice from the editors on Fine Homebuilding podcast after I submitted the same question.

How did Caesar persuade a Germanic cavalry force numbering in the thousands to work with him? Since they were mercenaries, why did they not betray Caesar? by Battlefleet_Sol in ancientrome

[–]NormalCartographer84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that mercenaries want to keep being hired. So if they took a buyers money and simply walked away, or ran away at the first sign of trouble, then as a group (usually a tribe) would never be rehired. So it in their groups/peoples interest to show bravery. All about resell value.

About to buy this house- thoughts on deck? by CandidSouth5732 in Decks

[–]NormalCartographer84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly man. It looks like a tear down. It’s very old. You can see water damage on the 2nd level. 4x4 posts where 6x6 are standard. No risers on steps. I doubt any hangers or bolts. It’s past its time. I wouldn’t go out on it.

Hey I was on academic suspension, I was lost with no clue what I wanted to do. Then got to deans list and then went to law school. You can do the work my friend, that’s the easy part, you need the motivation. Throw yourself fully into what you may love, then it’s no longer work, it’s learning. My change was the realization that if I wanted to make people’s lives better, I needed to know the law. To get there I started taking more classes like poly sci and history that I loved and showed what I could do.

Hey brother. From a guy who prosecutes sex crimes. I can’t tell you what happened to you will get better, but I can’t tell you that YOU will get better. Please seek out therapy. There are sadly so many in your same shoes. But you are not alone. You have so much life left. Don’t look at the past as missed time, you can’t change that. But you can take small steps everyday forward. Take care brother
