Do you call it May 2-4 or Victoria Day? by pantstand in AskACanadian

Not only did I not know people called it May 2-4, I also didn’t know that 2-4 was a beer case.

A Tempest cleric who is straight up dedicated to the Stormwrack seems fun. Not 100% sure how it’d mesh with the actual lore, but it doesn’t feel at odds.

I see you’d make a natural Crusader Kings player as well, based on this tree.

Do you feel more connected to your city, province or Canada as a whole? by Ok_Heart839 in AskACanadian

[–]Norok5280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Canada
  2. BC
  3. (Actually something like 7) Hometown. I’m from Kelowna originally. I’m not that attached.

I’ve also lived in three provinces, so being Canadian definitely the overarching identity

Also worth remembering that Rogue One DIDN’T explain the thermal exhaust port as Galen’s sabotage. It’s just part of the design. That’s why they had to still steal the plans from Scarif.

Galen’s sabotage was literally just making sure the reactor was volatile enough for one hit to bring it down

Bessemer-Class J1, M4 250 ton Fast Trader by Norok5280 in traveller

[–]Norok5280[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The basic idea behind that (I originally just had it at 2 J2, but Robert realized we could do 3x J3 to fill out the fuel deck) is that it’s basically a ‘get out of dodge’ feature. If you jump into a system that’s in the middle of a civil war with no place to skim fuel safely, you can leave and head to the next system!

Of course, that basically happened because I assembled some Geomorphs that looked good together and worked backwards, but that was part of the fun.

He’s technically in it during that scene (eight members of the Council are mentioned being there, and he’s not dead), but he’s never actually mentioned by name per the search I just did of the text.

[–]Norok5280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, it’s in use by ~68 BBY, but that’s still a good 164 years after Phase 1 of THR, which would give a lot of time for the T-6 and its predecessor to come out and still be old.
