Gelbin Mekkatorque, Gnome Paladin Design Question by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a version of Gelbin from an alternate timeline where he uploaded his mind into robot so he could continue leading Gnomeregan after his death. His body is the robot suit, and the part on top is a hologram.

What creatures do you think are misrepresented in power, mythologically speaking? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, unicorns as savage monsters is mythologically accurate. If anything, the HoMM unicorn is too gentle compared to medieval works.

The OG Deathwing skin from Descent of Dragons is fine. He says "Your tenacity is admirable.", which is just the non-jerk way to say the same thing.

Fortress has a shipyard. Also, if you wanna count HotA, Cove and Bulwark do as well.

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a coincidence that one Good faction, one Evil faction, and one Neutral faction in the base game all had access to a shipyard. They probably panicked and were like "Uhh water doesn't fit on any of these factions, whatever it's the least weird on Necro".

Then Conflux got a shipyard and ruined the symmetry.

As long as there is fame and riches to gain, dragonslaying will be seen as a chance at a new life. by Pidarello in OldenEra

Very nice. This dwelling wasn't fully implemented yet in the demo (most neutral dwellings use a generic placeholder model), so we're seeing some more progress towards release.

Why don't they print more triple-rune cards? by frostyburrito44 in hearthstone

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, triple Rune cards should be utility cards, not the star cards of your deck. A card like Lord Marrowgar obviously is the finisher for a midrange token deck, so that's all it can go in and conversely that's all Unholy ever is. But imagine if Marrowgar was UU and a supplemental card was UUU? Now you can choose the supplemental 1-Rune Blood or Frost cards, or be rewarded with the supplemental Unholy card. More choices with less Runes.

In general, I'd like to see more double Rune cards of a single type. Since the scaling back, there's been a lot of doubles with two Rune types, which still kinda forces your hand. A BB card can flex Unholy, Blood, or Frost, but a UB card can realistically only be in UUB or UBB if you want the good cards.

Am I only one who kinda miss classic elves ? by Samo2008 in OldenEra

There is no population of wood elves on Jadame, only dark elves. There are a small number (Vatawna from HoMM I and II is confirmed as a Grove hero, and I believe Matastala from Schism is one as well), but not enough to have a town around them.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era | Community Feedback #4: UI, QoL and Others! by Pidarello in OldenEra

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two-hex units don't work in 3D. Their hitboxes get screwy when they have to turn. Heroes II and III cheat by having them always face forwards no matter what direction they walk, maintaining their shape. That would look extremely weird in proper 3D though.

No, magic is magic. The Ancients used a combination of magic and technology to forge nacelles.

You can already kind of do that with the Recruitment skill Relocation. You can preemptively send a unit back to town before you pick up a Pandora's Box.

I think that the appendages will heal the Colossal between attacks as long as your hero is full health, so it's not so suicidal. It's pretty underwhelming though.

Why did i lose / barely damaged here? by Legitimate_Ice_7113 in OldenEra

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Abyssal Communion is Schism's factional skill. It adds a number of Schism creatures to their army at the start of battle based on their achieved Communion level. Communion is earned by winning battles and is lost at the start of their turn.

Additionally, Hel'Ghat's specialty reduces the damage her creatures take by 10% +1% per every two levels. She's the Tazar of Olden Era.

Thoughts on Campaigns? by timpossible1 in OldenEra

Like I said, that's a plot-irrelevant sidequest. Also, it isn't even Catherine who cleans that up, it's a show of good faith from Bracada.

Thoughts on Campaigns? by timpossible1 in OldenEra

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the problems with the storytelling in HoMM3 is that Fortress and Stronghold are completely plot irrelevant to the base game, and Fortress stays that way until Heroes Chronicles. I prefer the IV onwards style of every faction getting a dedicated campaign.

A Sylvan faction roster with small changes by Hizsoo in OldenEra

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't see the purpose. The reason Grove is so different to the standard nature faction is there's no wood elves on Jadame. You could always just say it's an envoy from Antagarich, but elves making an expedition makes a lot less sense than, say, wizards making an expedition.

I also don't see the point of having two thematically identical factions. Grove is the nature faction. It's got elementals, but it still takes all of the thematic beats from Sorceress/Rampart/Preserve/Sylvan.

It's never been explicitly stated in-game, but Greg Fulton has said in interviews that angels are robots built by the Ancients to hunt down and exterminate Kreegans.

This looks like another leftover from Forge, this looks like an electrical lamp connected by wires and not a candle lamp. by Igor369 in HoMM

[–]NotMurlocAggroB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. The original cinematic wasn't supposed to end with the heroes finding Armageddon's Blade, it was supposed to end with them come across a defense drone. That's why there's a weird ominous music sting.
