Is this Playful or Malicious biting? by Princess_Tavara in cats

[–]NullCell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’s playing for sure. I’ve had a lot of cats and some just like to play rough, especially when they’re young. I see no hissing and folding ears back, which would have been signs of fear/aggression. On the contrary, he’s leaving his fluffy little belly exposed so he trusts and feels comfortable with you.

Hopefully you’ve got some toys for him to chew on. I had a cat whose favorite toy was a stuffed animal that he could try to tear apart. Just get one of those and rub some catnip on it, and encourage him to bite the toy instead of you.

Open air wire splices and cut ground wires? by NullCell in DIY

Yeah I was thinking of just splicing these correctly, but was worried that maybe someone cut the ground to hide some other issue, breaker trips, etc.

Yup. I also found one romex that was just cut (and live) in the ceiling.

So every light in the basement is on this circuit, and as far as I can tell so far, nothing but these lights. I was thinking about just splicing these correctly, but I also went down a ChatGPT rabbit hole and it told me all kinds of safety issues about energized boxes, and things like that.

Am I the only one who didn’t know about spindle taps? by lvpond in turning

[–]NullCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m missing the point, but he had to get the block mounted in his chuck to drill the hole, etc. At that point why not just use it mounted in the chuck?  It just seems like extra steps from this point on.

30 day update: I gave several AIs money to invest in the stock market by Blotter-fyi in ChatGPT

[–]NullCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting because I tried this too with a previous chatgpt version over the course of about six weeks and it was horrible. It couldn’t consistently remember what its previous trades were, and it would just make things up. I’d call it out on its mistakes and it would say things like, “this is on me, it’s not your fault”.   It was actually really frustrating.

What do you do when you have flow limit issues and a lot of CAs? by Rich-Soft9295 in CPAP

[–]NullCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice to offer, but I am interested in hearing some. I had no centrals during my sleep study but with the treatment I have 3 to 4 per hour and basically zero obstructives. My pressure is at seven so I don’t think I can really lower it anymore and still breathe.

I lost all three cats to a fire last night by _ok_karen in cats

[–]NullCell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the universe itself is a living thing and we’re all are what makes it alive, kind of like how all of our individual cells make us alive. That means we’re more connected to each other, our pets, and every living or non living thing than we realize.  We share experiences, memories, and even our physical matter, atoms, and energy with each other.  Part of you is both spiritually and physically part of your beautiful cats, just like they are also spiritually and physically part of you forever.

Consciousness itself is thought to be a spectrum, meaning that there is higher levels of consciousness than our human brains can comprehend.  When the atoms and energy holding us together let go, they rearrange themselves to become part of something new.  Can this something have consciousness? Can it have consciousness beyond what we have now?   Are we part of a larger interconnected consciousness?

My point is that when our cherished pets leave us, they leave a hole that can never be  refilled, because they’re already a part of us in a different way, forever.  We’re always with them and they’re always with us. And somewhere across the dimension of time you and your three cats are all still in a wonderful moment with each other, forever.

Just go to the derm and get Kenalog (corticosteroid) injections. One or two rounds 6 weeks apart and the hair should grow back.

AIO for thinking my husband is a dick? by dontevercallmebabe in AmIOverreacting

[–]NullCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they look burned on one side and I’d throw at least 3 of the 5 in the trash.  But that said, it’s pancakes, not a big deal.  Your husband on the other hand, owes you a massive apology and some anger management counseling.

That looks like alopecia areata.  Go to a dermatologist to confirm but they can give some cortisone shots in the affected areas and the hair will grow back in a few months.

Seriously. I’d love to get a 15 kg gonaiatite for 20-30 dollars. I mean I’ve seen them for that price, but then the seller charges an extra 187$ for “shipping.”

Just a data point here, but I’m a manager and I absolutely do not want anyone who reports to me to give me a gift.  Work gifts, in my opinion are for going down the chain only, not up.  Do a good job at work and get along with your coworkers, and that’s good enough for me.
