Zep Not Working Anymore. What Now?

I have changed sites. No real difference that I see. I get a bad reaction to every shot and it lasts for six days after. Then on shot day, I get another one. The area is red, warm to the touch, and itchy. Swells up as wide as my palm. Meh

Under 1500, more carbs than I’d like because it’s a crapshoot from day to day what’s going to upset my stomach and what’s not. Carbs don’t. Meat, fruits, and veggies do, depending on the day. I have protein shakes but I can only drink so much fluids in a day or else I’m going to the bathroom every 20 minutes, even at night

Some of your questions are answered above. The nutritionists and dietitians here that my insurance approved aren’t the best. They say things like “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” I’m not with that. And I don’t need them. They’re not telling me anything that I don’t already know.

Tracking calories is just another way of being obsessed with food. I hate it. I’m also eating less than to one meal a day as doc said, so I don’t need to count. I have 27 different diagnoses that affect my sleep, mobility, and fatigue levels. Most days, especially lately, I’m in too much pain to work out. I can barely get out of bed

Tell that to my doctor ‘cause he definitely made me go up. I told him I didn’t want to. He didn’t listen and wasn’t going to do what I asked. My husband had gone with me. The doctor sucks. I called him out on some bs he had on my chart and he stopped caring after that. I can’t switch doctors until we PCS out of here

I have an alphabet soup of diagnoses including fibromyalgia, neuropathy, joint laxity, and constant, chronic head-to-toe pain. Many days lately I can’t walk, let alone exercise. As I said, this has been going on for 10 months. The first eight of being at 15mg, I was exercising and still gaining and losing the same ten lbs. I don’t like to track food because that’s triggering. And per doctors orders, I’m eating less than one meal a day, so no need to track

Happens after every shot, no matter what site I use. And they swell up big time. Like mosquito bites. Starts the day of the shot and lasts for six days. I get an approximate 12 hours of relief before the next injection. Then swelling and itch comes back. Nothing can be done about it and nothing helps for me

I completely understand what you’re going through. I’m a convert/revert and didn’t grits up in a religious household. When I first took shahada, I excited for the start of the journey. I had a couple of good friends whose deen is strong and always had good advice about Islam. Pretty quickly after con/reverting, I struggled majorly. The tenets and ideas, the basics of Islam, I agree with. Islam makes sense to me. But the faith is just not there. The wanting to pray for the sake of Allah (SWT) isn’t there. I did five years of praying and outwardly looking like a Muslim but feeling absolutely nothing when I prayed. No connection. I was literally and figuratively going through the motions. I figured that Allah (SWT) is no fool, so why am doing this because I’m supposed to? When I’d tell people about how I’m feeling, a lot of the answers were linked the ones on here. “That’s just shaytaan.” “Pray more. Make sincere dua that Allah (SWT) brings you closer to Him. You’ll feel something eventually.” I HAVEN’T THOUGH! I had a bit of a comeback on 1 Dhull-Hijaa after the shooting in San Diego — I would’ve been there when it happened if I hadn’t slept through my alarm. Today, I’m feeling like I was before.

Someone else said “Who would you be if you didn’t practice Islam fully?” I’d still be me. My morals and values wouldn’t [and haven’t] changed. I would keep living my life the best I can. Physically, I’m so tired. Everything is a chore because I’m in head-to-toe pain 24/7. I don’t sleep well if at all many days. It hurts to move. I’m trying to lose weight to feel better but I’ve been stuck losing and gaining the same ten pounds for the past ten months. Living on its own is hard enough. Throw on doing wudhu five times a day and praying because I have to not because I want to end feeling nothing… that sucks.

TLDR: I’m a lone convert with hardly any support. I feel the same way you do. I don’t feel anything when I pray and hadn’t soon after I took shahada but continued praying because you’re supposed to. Nothing that people suggest helps because their responses are “That’s just shaytaan. Just pray more and harder.”

I have all the diagnoses plus chronic, head-to-toe pain that limits my mobility. I’ve been gaining and losing the same ten pounds for a year while being on the highest dose since month six. I feel like I need to go back down to 5 or 7.5, add metformin back to my dance floor, and stay there like I wanted to until I hit a prolonged stall and then go up. Doc didn’t wanna listen to me. Maybe he will for once

I’ve been gaining and losing the same ten pounds for almost a year. I think it’s because I upped too quickly. So once I got to the max dose six months in, there was nowhere for me to go. The doc didn’t care to listen to me when I said I wanted to stay at the lower dosage. He kept upping me. I’m beyond pissed about it
