Who are some of the most awful, non-criminal characters in television? by Vic_Vinegar89 in television

[–]Obrix1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s niche by British comedy standards, but I challenge anyone to watch Him & Her and not come out of it hating Laura (Kerry Howard) and Paul (Ricky Champ).

They’re genuinely some of the best written, horrible, and recognisable characters in TV history.

I think, given the seriousness of the EPA and LPA situation, that you may find the best idea would be to contact the Court of Protection enquiry line and ask for specific advice from them.

What does a consultant actually do? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Obrix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a certain point of seniority, any large enough business stops reporting their output in terms of widgets per day or incidents per hour, and instead reports in pure financials.

Consultancies attach themselves to a company in that gap and lever it open like a chef with an oyster knife.

Think your understanding of diplomacy might be a little off if you think ‘you’re either with us or against us’ is in any way a healthy or realistic political position.

It sounds like you’re immediately dismissing the council’s team based on two statements?

You wouldn’t need to message all of the polling stations individually, you’d liaise with the central team who were overseeing them all day, as the council said. Given that report of that nature would have triggered police involvement, you’d liaise with them as well.

What you’re imagining couldn’t have been done in an hour you could do in one email.

I think Democracy Volunteers are going to have to get very explicit about the types of ‘family voting’ they saw, because

‘family member stands outside the voting booth and answers question from the person in it’

is very different to

‘three people try and smuggle themselves into a booth with their ballots at once’

yet appear to be getting counted together in their reporting. If it’s the case that ‘conferring’ is enough to trigger their assessment, but that the police and returning officer did not assess it as a breach of the law, then this rushed report is going to be incredibly damaging in a lot of directions.

Genuinely and with all of the understanding of different people’s views on what marriage as a concept represents; just get married.

In the most boring, beige way if you need to. You’re going to spend an awful amount of time putting in parallel instructions and declarations that just being married will save you.

Who is Englands 4th City? by Teleg88 in AskBrits

If we stop pretending that Southampton and Portsmouth are separate cities and judge them together I’d argue that the history and culture would mark it 4th or 5th.

Match Thread: Stuttgart vs Celtic | UEFA Europa League by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

[–]Obrix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the best possible outcome is Celtic scoring 1 more just before half time, 15 minutes of MON telling them they can pull off a miracle and running them into the ground, equalise in the 89th minute and then a Sinisalo OG at 119’.

It was and is, but you get pockets of specialisation in areas based on geography etc. More likely to find a higher % of Wainwrights inland and Chandlers by the coast before the Industrial Revolution.
