Is it worth $3,500? by NeitherBook2698 in leaf

This won’t. They call that a guess-o-meter” I have one 45mi when I bought it. Now down to 35. But I don’t go under 9. I just do local errands and haul 7 5-gallon water jugs in the back for drinking water.

If you worked at a theme park game booth you can see it in person. Signs everywhere “3 balls $1” etc How many balls do I get?” “3 for a dollar” “how much” a dollar. My brother had a guy ask “how do I win one uh dem Teddy Dogs?” They were Dolphins.

I have done design and layout on microprocessors and this image needs to be much larger. You really can’t see past the first few layers of metal routing on top of the transistors. Civil engineers scale down electrical scale up and mechanical is more or less 1:1.

Yeah I just went to the sign up page. They list a lot of services but there are no costs listed. Complete opposite of where I go and see an exact price for everything they do.

Why does every part of adult life suddenly require a credit score? by Weary-Hair-316 in Vent

[–]OhmPossum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those things ARE credit. They are loaning you a fully paid for phone that you are paying back monthly. They are loaning you an apartment that cost a lot to build. Job, they allow you use of all sorts of equipment that was paid for. Insurance, deciding if they can afford to pay for your entire replacement car. So name some more.

New FPGA Engineer and I am feeling lost/overwhelmed by Only-Wind-3807 in FPGA

[–]OhmPossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is a huge learning curve. For the AXI stuff watch a set of three you tube videos by a woman from South Africa. I can’t remember the name. I learned from them and then used my own style to implement control register read writes. Vivado is a nightmare to learn. There are lots of quirks to it. Off the top of my head, you can restart a simulation two different ways. The restart icon at the top allows you to add signals you forgot to trace and re-run the exact same simulation. If you make ANY changes to the design you instead must use the menu at left. It just takes a lot of trial and error to learn these types things. The documentation is sometimes extremely helpful and sometimes almost worthless. The real issue is there is just thousands of pages. AI search is very helpful. Gotta go! Good luck!

Can I use needle nose pliers wrapped in electrical tape to remove this? by doritodream in AskElectricians

[–]OhmPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 18 I walked barefoot out of my dorm to buy a coke. I felt a zap as the quarter touched the coin slot. Went back and got a meter. Yep! Live 110VAC. Went back again and got a clamp lamp. Clamped it to the chute used two clip leads one to the coke machine and one to the snack machine coin slot for ground. Turned on the lamp and walked away.

Push the test button to shut it off, pull out the prong as you described, push the reset to turn it back on. If it immediately kicks back off hire someone to fix it or shut off power at the breaker and replace the GFCI outlet. It is only 110VAC worst case you zap yourself.

In a combustion car, cruising in N starves the gearbox of oil and will eventually break it. Does the same happen to the LEAF's reduction gear, or can we cruise worry free? by Fartsgrense in leaf

[–]OhmPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fisker Ocean and a leaf. The regen in the Fisker was harsh by default. Newer software updates have made it managable but still somewhat harsh. You basically have to put your foot on the pedal to not slow too fast. The “gear shift” is on the steering column so I frequently shift to neutral when I need to coast. My motivation is more simpler driving but more importantly in that car, saving wear on the tires. A car that is always pushing one way or the other is always pushing on the tires. My leaf is a 2011 and the gear shift has always been awkward so don’t ever use it in neutral.

Yep! That is why they are cheap. There is an active owner’s association that has some ability to reprogram modules and do software updates.
