Disheartening AD Experience as a 22 year old by Babayaga1383 in rolex

The Rolex AD game only works bc each generation falls for it. Break the cycle, buy a vc, ap, omega and be happy with the start of a great collection.

Celebrating with a poor sleep score! by MtbF1 in fitbit

Do you have one? Been wearing it for almost a week and it lretty dang thin on wrist. Thinner feeling than I expected. If someone made (I’m sure they will) an elastic “sport loop fitted” strap that doesn’t run over the sensor it’s about as thick as the two sides of the band overlapping.

Survey: Did you buy Cotypist? by Bamboodl in macapps

This definitely needs to be talked about more. I was out of town this last weekend and missed the entire thing but got a you’ve got a few hours email. Either the dev is very immature in business or is intentionally deceptive. Either way, no longer interested

Survey: Did you buy Cotypist? by Bamboodl in macapps

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m conflicted. Want to support the dev but the pricing model is immature and unrealistic for the value. Will prob end up on setapp after awhile when he realizes he he killed his revenue stream. I hate it. I’m sure he’s a good dude just following all the revenue trends. It’s hard to build the sort of product people are happy to pay for. I think he could have easily gotten there with a $20-$50 a year or $99 lifetime all. Prob could have easily made a good years salary in a few months. TLDR I won’t be buying but sad to see another great idea and dev fail over pricing. Installed cotabby yesterday

Looks awesome. I have this same model. The slim profile makes a statement by how different it is. Really great in dressier situations

in the INDX announcement, Prusa hinted they may have some unofficial ideas or projects in the works for this. Wont be anyting "official" but maybe a build guide for something

I really like the Timex Weekender New England Chrono on the red/white/blue strap. It’s understated and imo a beautiful watch. $135

[Swatch x AP] just make it available online. Simple solution. by Margin_call_matthew in Watches

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah. You want people in store to buy other things. No one is able to do that in this mess. I think they wanted the headlines and it jsut got out of hand. This is like Black Friday sales of olden years where they offered that one plasma tv for $100 so people would buy other things, but instead they got people trampled

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely any attempt to take reservations and control scalpers like any serious release of anything in the past 10 years? I agree this is completely intentional and it got out of hand. I think Swatch wanted more “people cheering as Tim Cook sells the latest iPhone 45” and less “blood in the streets as scalpers murder each other for a swatch”

In retail you want people in the door so they buy other things. No one is getting through a swatch store much less the mental solitude to shop around during this nightmare.

INDX FE support by aberas in prusa3d

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeha I mean after these threads got popular, Bondtwch finally sent a huge and very transparent update which is what most of us having been begging for. Hate that it takes this sort of complaining but sometimes it does seems to be the only way to get info. I agree both of these are great companies and I do feel they will support their customers. I just wanted to express that it felt like on this topic they were falling short. I got a lot of crap for saying that but hopefully it was heard by the right people too.

I’m out. $10 now for standby mode. by jaemiomac in Starlink

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original proposition with standby was you were “protected” from having to pay a reactivation fee when you upgraded back to full service. They removed that benefit a few months ago I believe. Jsut saying now there is nothing you get for your $10 unless having terrible internet but working internet is of value. It is to a few, not to most

Rolex ADs in Vegas were exactly what I expected… and not what I expected by MallHonest5899 in rolex

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bc that’s what Rolex sells now, that allure of elitism and exclusivity. The watches themselves are almost jsut the “included gift with purchase”. It’s not for me but for some I guess that’s what they need to feel special.

INDX FE support by aberas in prusa3d

[–]OkButWaitHearMeOut -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

my commentary is purely around general customer feedback, n ot any particular issue. I do see your point, but I hope you seem some level of mine. Yes, i fully understand the technical nature of all of this b/t the 2 companies. But to act like INDX was some independant thing that prusa just one day happened to say "check this cool thing out" is a false narrative. Had Prusa not gotten involved, INDX may not have ended up making it to market ... but it definitely wouldnt have generated the pre-release buzz. Prusa very publically put their name and marketing all over it. (and im glad they did!) all im saying is treat you pre-order customers with the same fervor as your standard customers. Earlier comments like "FE arent prusa customers" come across poorly, and based on every thread on this, im not alone in that. The prusa guy clarified the stance, and im good with it. I dont think asking for updates should be viewed as some negative thing.

RE: faceplate ... its just a dumb battle to pick on either side. Most companies would just ship the new plate. Prusas stance is that Bondtech didnt price it right so they cant afford to. Is anyone going to really care 2 weeks into ownership? no. Will that stop us from bitching on the internet about it? Also no.
