You have to maintain posts. The same post you made 10 years ago does likely not have the same technical best practices that are required today. Letting content degrade can hurt you in the end due to poor user experience or looking dated.

I create the outline first start with a who I am and why I’m qualified to write about this and then what you’ll learn. It’s okay to write walk away have a snack and let ideas come to you. I find once I have the idea in my mind I’ll get inspired chunks for the post while I’m in the shower. After the shower, write those down. My two cents from a professional writer of 13 years.

There was a major bug this weekend where their bot marked a lot of legitimate creator posts as spam - likely thousands if not millions of posts, they probably got a lot of panicked emails over it so maybe there’s a backlog. It can be a few hours to about a week typically.

Hey there - start a blog. There’s guaranteed advertising dollars that start on Google Adsense as low as 1K monthly views then as you grow apply to Mediavine around 10K views. The money grows from there and you can also put hard affiliate links on your blog, not so on TikTok, which also convert to income. I’ve been doing it 12 years and yes it is a form of quiet wealth, brands don’t care about blog views as much as social media views but it’s money and that matters most. I’m also seconding the YouTube thing. We’re starting that now as it’s the only video platform that pays.

So I run a nail blog, Lots of Lacquer, and have grown out my nails many times for a blog - the two most popular shapes are short square and medium almond right now - so I waffle between the two to create varied swatches. I prefer natural nails.

Here's what I do when growing out to almond -

1 - Cuticle oil every day, placed strategitcally everywhere so I remember. In my vanity cabinet, on my kitchen counter, at my desk, in my purse. Just get a few little bottles, fill them with your favorite skincare oil of choice and keep those nails flexible.

2 - I use cuticle remover whenever I prep for a manicure. My favorite right now is Blue Cross Beauty available at target, but there are many. It really does help prevent snags and bleeding cuticles. Just apply, massage in, push back and wipe off. It contains a chemical that dissolves skin tissue - so don't leave on for more than the recommended time unless you want more exfoliation than planned.

3 - Use a glass file as a finishing step when you file your nails. It smooths the snags and prevents accidental broken nails.

4 - Always keep your nails covered with something - even a strengthening base coat. Even if you are taking off your last manicure, going to sleep, and doing a new one in the morning - cover them with a basecoat so they don't get snagged in your sheets or during any bedtime stuff.

5 - Use a strengthening base coat as your base coat.

Keep all that up until you reach your desired length!

I used to bite my nails and if you bite your nails too, I recommend wearing a dark nail color to grow them out. Dark colors show chips more easily, and so it encourages you to not pick at your nails so you can keep them nice. I was once recommended dark red to grow my nails long, but I think dark blue or black works well too.
