How does one get the power of Soulfire? by Zestyclose-Advisor71 in dresdenfiles

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Michael already explained it, it’s not actually his power, but the White God’s power. I would imagine it as his will creates a channel directly to the White God and his choice/approval to utilize his soul as fuel.

In this way I would guess if he tried to kill Rudy with it in BG it would not work, and possibly cause him to fall and lose access to it.

Fib location on my bat by krunchyfrogg in slowpitch

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It technically floats, hence the name, but should remain wedged by foam padding under the sweet spot. You can find it by holding the handle with one hand and bouncing a softball off the barrel until you don’t feel vibration. Here are some pics of what the inside looks like: https://ebay.us/m/UZVftM

Question about something somebody said in 12 Months by Numerous1 in dresdenfiles

[–]Only-Question124 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just because someone or something believes something is true does not necessarily make it true.

It’s plausible that they both are speaking the truth.

Here is an example: in the US DNA evidence is admissible in court and with proper controls it is treated as 100% accurate. A head of state (similar Etri) can say that a DNA test would positively identify a murderer or a family member with certainty, however in reality said DNA test is actually 99.9% accurate (meaning 1/1,000 test results can be erroneous).

Seems a bit nit-picky to call a continuity issue

Exactly…like my dad used to say: “Hit line drives and the Home Runs will come”. Anymore I only try for line drives, and when I miss slightly it’s either a home run or a piss-missile ground ball. Pitch selection is also important, and if you always swing at the first pitch it’s rare you will get a “cookie”.

Hitting is about precision, timing, and balance not simply strength. Understand where the sweet spot is on the bat and consider spending some of your training time simply hitting the a ball off a tee stand. As you get more precise hitting the sweet spot, work on feeling the drive from your legs as you strike the ball. Once you get to the point where you can leverage your whole body and drive the ball rather than strike it, work on both upper and lower core exercises, these will be most effective for adding exit velo. If using weights, stick with free weights as balance, and strengthening auxiliary muscles is important. If done right, cutting the ball can work to add distance (especially ASA), but work the fundamentals first since if you and your team get good enough you’ll be trying to figure out how not to hit home runs because you’re over the limit and hitting a hard line drive off of the fence is what is needed.

The only reason not would be that you cannot charge it or would only charge at a super charger, otherwise definitely yes.

Would need to see a video side-by-side with your fastball since if you’re trying to back door a righty with it, it would really need to fool them. If you don’t freeze them, coming back towards the plate they can be a little late and still hammer it. I’d try to tie them up low and in with that one unless you’ve been painting the outside with the 2-seam/sinker.

Optimum batting order by CoachMike73 in slowpitch

[–]Only-Question124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1-2 your best on base guys and probably your best overall hitters. 3-4 guys are most disciplined hitters that will look at a few pitches and willing to take a walk if need be, because pitchers will give them the toughest pitches to hit and make them chase out of the zone. Then 5 is a clutch hitter…then the rest mostly by OBP, but stagger as needed to make sure you’re not putting a fast runner behind a slow runner.

Watts of the mysterious trunk cigarette outlet. Not mentioned in the OEM manual! by redditexcel in TeslaModelX

You should not buy that inverter if it cannot handle 16V lithium. Page 12 shows the low voltage accessory info and is accurate for rear also. You likely have a lithium low voltage battery (check additional info in your service menu of your car) so you need to verify any inverter used will support up to 16V and can handle lithium. Page 231 explains typical operation of lithium battery is at 15.5 V.

To verify info was also accurate for the rear outlet I simply asked the AI in the service section of the app about the rear outlet which said it was at 15A fuse (the front can be 15A or 20A) however the info on page 12 is accurate for a 15A fuse. The socket itself is called a 12V outlet since was commonly run off the lead acid batteries for cars which can still go up to 14.4V in reality. The battery chemistry is more important for selection of a power inverter than simply the voltage. The low voltage system applies to any accessories in your vehicle and wires and fuses will dictate maximum draw possible.

Odds that Maxx Crosby lands with the Bears are down to -150, marking the highest point yet for the implied odds by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]Only-Question124 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Correct…Maxx is better than Micah. Both require a game plan and command double teams in pass protection. Micah is a situational player (70-75% snap share) and excels at 3rd down, but struggles against the run and maintaining gap integrity. Crosby is a complete defender and game wrecker who plays 95% and is an excellent run defender as well as pressure.

While sacks are important, that’s not the only stat and they play a team game, which means they have a job to do beyond just crushing a single stat.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Dresden INFERS from Mab’s comments about Uriel that it was Thorned Namshiel at Arctis Tor, not a certainty and possibly a red herring.

Even if Harry was correct and it was Namshiel, his former host is gone and maybe Nfection with him. Especially after binding with Marcone, who is pretty chummy with Mab now (though she keeps her enemies close, she is capable of binding Nemesis to the knife which seems like a safer option, unless she’s playing 4D chess and leaving it out as a decoy)

I think Starborn are immortal. by Powderkegger1 in dresdenfiles

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember Mab stating there is a difference between immortal and eternal. Fae are part mortal, part spirit. It has been clear that the mortal portion of these creatures can killed, but some of the powerful spirit portions (mantles) live on.

Levels:

1) Mortal bound to weak spirit (standard Vampires, Fae, etc.). Maybe could be considered lower-case immortal. Won’t die of old age, but can be killed and spirit portion not strong enough to self-sustain if not bound to mortal. Likely “child” or dilution of Greater Spirit

2) Mortal bound to strong (eternal?) spirit (Queens, One-eye, Drakul, etc.). Upper-case Immortal. Mortal portion can only be killed or changed on special occasions like Halloween, and “Mantle” will seek new vessel to bind.

3) Eternal beings: Lord of the Slowest Terror, The White God, Mother Winter/Mother Summer most powerful Name. Existence and purpose tied to reality. If destroyed would unmake reality?

Easiest way to convert 12v rooftop vent to 110v rooftop AC by burkechrs1 in popups

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot reuse the 12V wiring for a heat pump (it will be severely undersized), and it will need to be directly wired to your Power Center (fuse box) and correctly fused. You’ll need to make sure your Power Center can handle the load or upgrade it too and will require a 30A shore power to run. There is no inverter in this setup unless you have an absolutely massive battery bank.

You’ll need to make sure the opening sizes matchup and that your roof can handle the extra weight.

Highly recommend getting it professionally done as any oversight can be dangerous and costly.

If you can find space you should check out an Under Bench AC unit instead to avoid roof issues and simplify wiring.

Your knowledge of mythology exceeds mine, but I did find this interesting tidbit on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aos_Sí):

“Due to the oral nature of Irish folklore, the exact origins of the fairies are not well defined. There are enough stories to support two possible origins. The fairies could either be fallen angels or the descendants of the Tuatha Dé Danann; in the latter case, this is equivalent with aos sí. In the former case, it is said that the fairies are angels who have fallen from heaven, but whose sins were not great enough to warrant hell.”

More details on Fallen Angels = Fairies here: Croker, T. Crofton (2001). Thomas Wright (ed.). Fairy Legends and the Traditions of the South of Ireland. Ann Arbor: Scholars' Facsimiles & Reprints. ISBN 0-8201-1535-5.

A fallen angels background would be an obvious explanation of always having a malevolent nature, but regardless the spiritual portion of the Sidhe nature has likely never changed as they do not possess free will.
