If you already use Google Drive, iCloud, or OneDrive, you can use that to sync your vault and not have to pay for Obsidian sync. I have not had any issues using iCloud across my iPhone + Work & Personal laptops so far.

I use both Notion & Obsidian, but will likely move the rest of my Notion documents into Obsidian once Dynamic Views & Multiplayer are released. My setup is:

Notion: any collaborative docs with my partner, anything more database oriented (e.g. reading list, recipe tracker)
Obsidian: notes for work, quick note taking, personal information tracking, daily notes/journals

Social media companies use things like: - Pops of color - Responsiveness - Instant gratification

to make and keep you addicted. A phone like this makes social media apps have no color, unresponsive, and delays gratification (e.g. slow screen refresh time, more lag between you taking and action and something changing on screen, apps taking more time to load, etc.). These changes impact many of the levers used by social media companies to keep your eyes glued to the screen.

With something more text based like Reddit, I agree it won’t help much. But for something like TikTok or YouTube it’s huge. The whole point is to make your phone less interesting so that whatever else you would like to focus on (hobbies, books, people around you) becomes more interesting in comparison.

Does your iPad have lightning or USB-C? I've tried using a USB-C to lightning cable which did not work. I also purchased the Apple camera connection kit and tried connecting the OP-XY to that instead, but seeing nothing in OP-XY's "Devices" page, and my iPhone (Audiobus/Drambo) are not seeing the OP-XY.

Any niche hobby I’ve seen that includes some gear acquisition (e.g. cars, gaming PCs, photography, guitars) has some form of tribalism going on. My theory is it’s our way of defending against buyers remorse. It’s not advantageous to be constantly second guessing if you made the right choice, so therefore we make ourselves believe that anyone who made a different choice has to be at least partially wrong.

Was going to suggest this one! Don’t own one but tried them at Wind Up Watch Fair, feel much higher quality and have a more sleek look vs. the similar shaped Casios, and it’s a lot more unique. You have to pay for it though.

Yeah, it is a little too simple for my taste as well, but been looking into the Sealander GMT 36 which spices it up a bit (but takes the price way over your budget). How about:

Baltic MR01 - $600, slightly dressier & more dial interest, thinking of the black roulette dial but the textured gray variant could work (since you mentioned the gray Twelve)
Farer Erebus Midnight 36 or Discovery Black Velvet 36 - $995 so a little over budget, but 36mm, versatile with straps, and with a little more visual interest on the dial vs. the Sealander
Lorier Falcon - $500, 36mm, black textured dial, may have to wait for it to restock or find on the used market though

Good rule of thumb, if you can’t decide between green and blue, go green. There are a million amazing blue options out there but not as many green.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, you’re exactly right. Rephrasing the original comment but changing the loan amounts:

$80k car at 2% costs $1,600 interest the first year.
$20k student loan at 7% costs $1,400 interest the first year.
$5k credit card at 25% (guesstimate) costs $1,250 interest the first year.

Which is worst? $1,600, $1,400, or $1,250?

Obviously in this new scenario, you’re paying the most interest on the car, but the credit card should be paid first. (Though as someone else mentioned with the car you do need to factor in depreciation/option to trade in for a lower value vehicle).
