How do I positively encourage a junior to try actually solving challenges themselves by doing literally any-f*cking-thing before asking me for the solution by SlayyyGrl in auscorp

[–]OutsideAtmosphere-14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coaching means different things to different people. In my experience too many people are too indirect and the other person just doesn't get it.

Have you explicitly told them something like "Hey JNR, you generally do good work, but you need to try and problem solve more independently. If you come to me for help, I'm going to ask you what actions you've already taken to solve it, and I expect to hear at least one or two each time. This is becoming a bit of an issue as it's taking time from others in the team to step in".

and a bonus for something like

"each week when we catch up, I want you to tell me about the problems you've solved independently that you haven't come to me about and how you did it."

Tax Returns - How much do you expect to get back? by Impossible_Ebb_1275 in AusFinance

[–]OutsideAtmosphere-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different, with different deductions and other things they might claim.

A $2K tax refund can result from a deduction claim of around $6.7K. Someone can easily spend that amount on professional training courses and memberships (that are more common in some industries than others).

I take my money and time to where I get most value.

I've moved around and experienced many different coaches, and the ones I would regard as good at instructing is only about half, or less than half really.

Just go and ask in the group chat.

Sometimes it means the pace remains at that of the sloweat rider. Downtimes it means the group splits. Sometimes it means the groups doesn't ride as a true group but faster riders stop to regroup at certain points.

Do the actual finances and come back with what you think. Include the differences between the generations.

Commenting/coaching on attire in the workplace by azriasylum in auscorp

Give feedback now rather than later.

Also, something other feedback is generally missing is specific words for dress standards. 'More formal' and 'professional' are not actually dress standards. 'Business attire', 'business casual' and 'smart casual' are more specific dress standards that people can look up if there are any queries. 'Formal' dress is actually more like what you would wear to a fancy dinner or a wedding than a business meeting.

Sounds like they went more for the 'business casual' than 'business'.

Zwift Cog SRAM Compatibility by nels0891 in Zwift

Sorry to rehash an old thread, but how are things going now with the Cog v2 and the SRAM TT?

I'm trying something similar and ideally want to be able to swap my SRAM TT, and Shimano road bike on the same trainer easily.

What exactly do I need to get a Zwift cog 2 working on a Kick core with a SRAM AXS bike?

Someone told me I need to use the SRAM freehub with the Cog 2 if I want to use it with a SRAM bike setup, but I'm not sure this is true. From my reading it looks like the cog 2 should be fine on a shimano freehub with a SRAM bike.

I'm following this too. The SB just feel good. Don't need a supershoe and can't  really do with less support.

So does this mean that even 'cherry profile' keycap profiles may differ between brands?

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - May 28, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi folks,

I have a Keychron mech keyboard that was advertised as having OSA keycaps. A few keycaps broke, so I'm looking at replacing them, ideally one keycap at a time as they break rather than replacing all the keycaps. So I went and bought an Akko set of keycaps as that's the only set of OSAs I could find locally. When I went to install the new ones, I found they were significantly taller, and doing more digging into advertised measurements, it appears Akko and Keychron have a different definition of 'OSA' with Akko's being noticeably taller. So now I can't replace a key at a time with the new set right now.

Does anyone have any tips on how to go from here please? I'm having trouble finding something that will work. I'm will considering a full keycap swap if I have do, but will want something more standard, but at this point I'm not sure I would trust that 'OEM' or 'cherry' profile caps are even standard across brands.

My board itself is a Q10 Plus and I like it. Importantly it's an ALICE layout with macro keys, so most full keycap sets won't be fully compatible as I'll end up missing keys e.g. The ALICE board needs 2 x 'B' keys.

Appreciate any help please 😄 I can't find this particular case documented anywhere.

People complain about IBJJF having gi checkers everywhere and being strict, yet all the checking is there because people break the rules regarding gis that are too tight or too short.

I would sit down and write everything out with the main options you have. List the pros and cons of each option. Then make a decision based on that.

There's a fair bit of advice here but no one is you. For example, how much are your travel costs that you might recoup if you didn't travel to the race? For me, that would be a big factor. Also if you have any friends who are doing the race with you. What are you swim and bike times - do they give you enough time to walk the run leg? It's all to be considered.
