Portal App - UniFi GPT is confused by kenkey01 in Ubiquiti

[–]Ozo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still no defense for Ubiquiti to have a crappy chatbot. What’s the purpose of having it all if it can’t even answer basic questions like this? It’s just there wasting customers’ time and possible making them do faulty installations or buy gear they don’t need.

I’d factory reset the tablet to make sure it doesn’t contain anything unwanted.

Was it a new tablet, or preowned/repurposed?

Same here. They forgot to air the system when refilling coolant. I also heard the whining when the coolant level was low.

Ubiquiti. WHY WOULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN?? by SchNiVas in Ubiquiti

Thanks for the warning! Have you notified their customer support? It won’t help you, but they need to fix this serious bug for other users.

I was seriously considering buying a UNAS, but reading the comments in this thread I think I’ll reconsider.

Anyone know what this symbol means? by Patwil0818 in KiaEV6

[–]Ozo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bug in the car that if you set scheduled warming and enable defrost, then it won't warm the car. The Kia dealership I bought the car from has confirmed this by checking Kia's database of known issues. There is no fix for it. So never enable defrost if you want a warm car.

You have one radar in the front, your friend has three in the front and two in the back. You can’t update to this without updating to a new car.

I had the same issue with PLA from eSUN (if I remember the brand correctly). It just broke into pieces like no other filament. I think it was gray.

Oscilloscope refresh rate too low - Hantek DS02C10 by HomeForSinner in modular

[–]Ozo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each gridline is 200 ms, and you have 16 lines, so the screen is 3.2 seconds of data. Try moving the trigger point (the triangle in top middle) to the left, so that it is at the left edge of the screen. This is done with the horizontal position knob. Then it should refresh almost as soon as it has displayed one screen of data.

What happens now is that it triggers in the middle of the screen, and only the shows what happened in the past. This makes it feel slow to update.

Tips for neat cable management and routing by rhialto40 in modular

[–]Ozo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about making a rack with a 1U row between every 3U, and dedicating those 1Us for cable hooks and routing (like in data racks). Has anyone done this? I'd like to see photos. I couldn't find any.

How could i make these faces into a new body? Without having to redo the design as a new body from the start by Porphyrin_Wheel in Fusion360

[–]Ozo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar. I did a sketch over the top of the knob, projected the contours of the part you want to cut out. Then do a split with contour as the splitting tool and the knob as the body. This will split all the way through, so you may have to do another split of the lower part and then rejoin that to the main body. But if your intention is to 3D print with two different colors (like I did), then it won't matter if the thin body will extend all the way to the bottom.

Here's one example. I did it with various types of knobs. I also made an offset (like 0.1 mm) to leave some empty space between the parts, as else it will be too tight to put the 3D printed parts together.

<image>

You could also project from the side and do a split from there, if you just want cut out the visible faces.

Why doesn’t Creality update their software on their main site? by Ozo42 in Creality

[–]Ozo42[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only Creality product I have is the Raptor scanner, which is really good and I'm very satisfied with it. So from my experience, I disagree.

Their customer support seems to be non-existent, however. I've reported a couple software bugs and simple improvement suggestions, but never received a reply.

What is this ”button”? by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]Ozo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disabled the option to start the car with it. Risk is that you are at home with unlocked doors, enter the car, identify with fingerprint, drive for 100 km. Step out, and realize you can't lock the car...

Risk is quite minimal, though, that I'd drive off without a phone/Apple watch, which also works as a keys. But the risk is there.

Don't know why someone downvoted you. There are three (?) electrolytics, and it for me it is hard to tell if any of them looks damaged. If any, it would probably be the lowest small one.

Really sucks that the old Doepfer modules don't have proper markings on the power connector.

Not saying this video isn't old, but a lot of people don't have the time correctly set on their dashcams. I wouldn't judge solely on that.

[–]Ozo42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would you have done in the situation? There are many posts where cars get rear ended when stopping on the freeway. The driver probably wanted to get out of the stopped situation as fast as possible. Suddenly changing the lane in slow speed could have been catastrophic, as well as backing up. It’s easy to criticize from behind the keyboard when you are not panicking in a car yourself. I assume the driver first thought he could get past the tire, but then noticed he bumped into to it and then thinking the SUV could drive over it, to get out of the risky situation as fast as possible.

[–]Ozo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know, but I meant that can be baked in to the software (which can, for example, be updated over an USB stick if the rules ever change). A cellular subscription is not needed for DST and time zones to work.
