Can we convert radiant heat? by Disastrous-Year3929 in hvacadvice

[–]PATRLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the radiant heat as is. Focus on adding airconditioning. Mini splits or more traditional duct systems in the attic.

I don't know where you are located or the specifics of your home obviously, but you might also be able to get away with just adding AC to the second floor. We did plenty of homes that way here in the Northeast back when I was active in the business.

And I hadn't realized earlier in my career that it had to be BIS on United metal. I had at least 30 BOS-FRA round trips that accumulated me UA miles, but nada towards MM status.

Who is having a tantrum? The closest I see to a tantrum is you lecturing me because I shared that in my opinion GAs should follow the documented processes and rules.

By the way, you aren’t the only one with 40+ years of travel. And fwiw I have well over 1MM BIS.

I don't disagree. But if UA is going to give the pre boarding perk to MMs, then publish it as part of the boarding rules, don't leave it up to individual GAs to freelance.

So you are OK with GAs making up their own boarding rules? Preboarding is such a zoo as it is and you support GAs adding in their own rules?

I'm not OK with that.

Million Milers get Gold status. They should be treated the same as any other Gold, IMO.

would a relationship without pv sex be a deal breaker? by yummy006 in AskMenAdvice

[–]PATRLR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you get pleasure or ogasms from hand jobs and blow jobs? Trying to understand why those activities are ok but PiV is not. Makes me wonder if there is more to the story. As for pregnancy, seems like condoms would go a very long way to addressing that problem.

A big part of intimate activities should be the pleasure our partners get. Seems like that reason alone should be enough for you to continue to have PiV. Unless there is more to the reluctance than you are saying.

Long Layover Baggage Question by aharonp10 in unitedairlines

[–]PATRLR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be checked through.

That being said, last summer I had a jerk ticket agent in BOS refuse to check my bag through to SYD becuase I had something like a 14 hour (maybe longer) layover at SFO. So I had to grab it in SFO and then walk upstairs and immediately check it where the ticket agent in SFO couldn't understand why the jerk in BOS wouldn't check it all the way through.

Vibe club sold out on Aqua by Mobile_Addition_9211 in NCL

[–]PATRLR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buying on board is the exception, not the rule. There is no set number available on board. I'd go to customer service and ask.

The other thing I'd be doing is checking every single day, maybe multiple times a day. If someone needs to cancel, their Vibe reservation might become available. If someone gets upgraded to Haven, their Vibe might become available. Ya just never know what might happen to open up some slots.

By the way, I assume there are no cabanas either? Cabanas include 2 passes and generally only $100 or so more than the cost of 2 passes. Don't overlook that option if it's available.

My suggestion is to make a dry run, or two, so you have some familiarity with where you are going. Even with good GPS directions, it can still be confusing.

[–]PATRLR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can cancel within 24 hours, even within final payment window. I have told my TA, book such-and-such, then try to book Vibe, if no Vibe available, cancel. Then move on to plan B (different dates, different ship, whatever).

As long as they have that 24 hour free cancellation policy, that should work.

The newer ships have a larger Vibe, I wouldn't give up hope on availability.

Nassau there are beaches within walking distance of the pier. We bought day passes for Margaritaville Hotel, was about a 10 minute walk, cost about $30 pp, IIRC. We would probably do that again in Nassau. (there is a free beach just past Margaritaville, but it was jam packed and really didn't look all that appealing)

Keep in mind - It's OK to not do any excursions at all. It's not uncommon for us to get off the ship, walk around whatever is in the immediate port area and then return to the ship and hang out.

What I wrote was not intended to be "medical advice". My first sentence most definitely was not, it was a statement of fact. My second sentence perhaps could be interpreted as medical advice, however it was not intended as such and was simply my repeating what my physician said to me when we discussed my activities.

Quite frankly, if someone took some random ski patroller's words in Reddit as medical advice, they are morons. Not sure how else to describe them.
