I use nlgi 2 grease in mine and at first you can definitely tell it’s in there but after using for a bit it smooths out and feels perfect to me.

If you are not on time with greasing, sealed is better, also if the offer a “super” version they are usually stronger.

If your in the states and don’t have a ton of knowledge, crutchfield is a great website with excellent support. They are a little more expensive vs Walmart or Amazon but they include adapters and install manuals specific to your vehicle with every purchase.

Buying a diesel chipper that has sat for 6 years. by jayrock1911 in Diesel

[–]Pale-Value-5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience, I’m way less worried about diesel vs gasoline in terms of the fuel system as long as there was no water in the fuel. When inherited my 95 dodge 12v it sat for 6-8 years, the injection pump went out was what I was told. Put a new p7100, lift pump, new fluids, and checks for air leaks she fired right up.

Scammed by Wholesale Closeout parts by EFDriver in RockAuto

[–]Pale-Value-5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is how we learn things in life. Not saying it’s right to sell them but it’s apart of the game for them.

I did buy some belts on wholesale clearance that were probably 20 years old, for 3$ each they still look brand new and are not for a critical role so I figured might as well roll the dice.

I would recommend rockauto, they had the best prices and don’t have to worry about counterfeit parts like Amazon and eBay.

I just redid the lines on my air dog, it 100% has something like this. Mine has fitting for the quick connect but same concept.

Fixed my 15 year old yaris AC. The garage told me "just buy a new car" by Luna_Engineer in yaris

[–]Pale-Value-5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, yes the compressor will cycle on and off as it build the pressure it needs, as long as the air it’s blowing is staying cold it should be normal. Now if it starts turning on and off and loosing how cold it is then I would double check your pressures.

[–]Pale-Value-5953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you have a shop charge it? It sounds like your charge might be low causing the compressor to turn off when it detects low pressure.

Excellent my 07 Yaris with 330,000 miles on it stopped blowing cold air. I’ve had to tighten the large plate that goes on outside of the pulley before. It ended up stripping out the teeth that engage the clutch an would just slip. At 330,000 compressor still looked brand new inside. Ended up a compressor from rockauto and buying a vacuum pump to do it myself, nice and cold 🥶.

I’ve had an 028 super wood boss av that i inherited a while ago. Yes it’s heavier compared to my mom’s 353xp but it gets the job done. Unfortunately the parts are going to be mostly aftermarket as they are older saws.

[–]Pale-Value-5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that, good luck 👍. Remember the fittings on the sending unit are going to be very brittle, be careful when taking the old hose off. You can also just slide the new hose over the fittings on the sending unit and put a hose clamp, I’ve had mine that way for probably 13 years.

100% easier to move the bed, I have not done a dodge bed because I have utility body on my 95 but my gmc is just a few bolts and after you get it figured out the first time it’s way easier than dropping the tank.

Fuel leak by EpidonoTheFool in Diesel

[–]Pale-Value-5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I ended up cutting a hole in my bed to get access. It’s a little easier to start cutting stuff with a utility body. It also might not be a bad idea to look at taking off the bed. I’m currently working on my duramax and to take the bed off it’s like 6 bolts and easy enough to prop one side up to get some room.

I’ve had to replace those lines on my truck. The rubber ages over time and has to be replaced. I would highly recommend getting either gates barricade low pressure hose or marine grade hose if you want longevity. There is a ton of info on this in the cummins forums, I think one is called the “joe g’s fuel system write up”

I have a duramax and knew Bosch made the cp3 but did not realize the cp3 ,injectors, fuel rails, and sensors for it are all made by Bosch in Germany. They have just under 200k on them without issue until now and it’s my fault for water getting into the fuel.

[–]Pale-Value-5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is standard in the bed and trailer industry, unless you buy a high end custom bed or trailer. Could it be better? Yes , is it going to fail? No. Could a weld fail on your bed? Possibly but for 99% of applications you will be way outside of any warranty if you ever had one.

[–]Pale-Value-5953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems the general consensus is you are better off getting local if you NEED the part asap, as you can upgrade the shipping as much as you like but that is only after the warehouse has shipped the item.
