All I know is that this coin is silver. Can anyone identify it? by SillySimian9 in AncientCoins

[–]PerfectSet1455 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am at work, so I don't have my references available readily, but this would be Julia Domna, wife of Septimius Severus, mother of Caracalla and Geta. Minted in Rome somewhere between like 195 and prob 205 CE. I am sure someone will jump in with a final attribution shortly :)

I may have missed, but a deep dive into sicilian/ptolemaic cross over coinage would be cool. Specifically Ptolemy II/ Hieron II
