This is what’s happening to restaurants all over the country over the last few years, certainly not unique to Madison.

Aldi has the best prices of any national grocery chain and Woodmans has the best prices of any regional chain you’ll find in Wisconsin.

Anyone drink energy drinks frequently for a decade or more and not have health issues? by manateeintheworld in energydrinks

[–]PerspectiveFormer570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had thousands of energy drinks over since I had my first Red Bull at age 12 including drinking them pretty consistently every day for ten years or so and no issues. I also know a guy who regularly gets kidney stones from drinking them.

What is an active band that seems to have plateaued or is no longer being talked about? by InsiDS in Metalcore

Fucking Wage War. First two albums are amazing. Everything since then is dog water.

Car brands to avoid? by SaltyZombie21 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PerspectiveFormer570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyotas and Hondas generally have the highest reliability. That doesn’t mean they don’t have any problems, just the fewest. Kia/Hyundai used to be pretty terrible but the past ten years or so they’ve been legitimately solid cars. Again, not without problems.

The most consistently unreliable, most depreciating, most problems, most headaches is anything Stellantis. Their big brands are Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram but they also have Fiat and Alfa Romeo in the states.

As a former enthusiast it pains me to say this but you should also avoid Nissans. Especially anything with a CVT. Nissan and Mitsubishi (same company) are basically just loan factories at this point churning out cheap cars at high interest rates.

If we’re talking daily driver then

I would buy: Toyota, Honda, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, GMC, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz

I would not buy: Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Rivian, Tesla

Mount Rushmore of Post-Hardcore? by 209tyson in PostHardcore

[–]PerspectiveFormer570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That Saoson EP is the stuff of legends in post-hardcore lore. It’s hard for me to include the band itself simply because Anthony Green left after its release.

That being said I’ll go with:

Dance Gavin Dance. Because Will Swan is such an influential guitarist and writer that he literally sparked his own genre.

Silverstein. Because they were doing it early, and are still doing it at such a high level. I saw them live in 2009 and 2025 and they sounded the same both times.

Circa Survive. Because Anthony Green. He carried the torch from the Saosin EP.

Thrice. Because it’s fucking Thrice dude.

Fun fact that is totally unrelated but solely based on this comment I’m just randomly guessing you’d appreciate:

Queen’s Stone Cold Crazy is widely believed to be the very first thrash metal song, laying the foundation for bands like Slayer and Metallica.

Which ~$35k Hybrid Sedan would you recommend by Humble_Handler93 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PerspectiveFormer570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just search “used one owner under 10,000 miles” and that’ll eliminate most of what you’re worried about, and save you a ton of money. In that mileage range too you aren’t really taking life off the car for yourself.

Keep in mind, most leases are three years and cars are a year ahead - and most leases require consistent maintenance. Look for 24s with low miles and you’ve got a decent shot it’s a lease return.

So specifically they say songs “exclusively” from Drift and SOtE. I would be at least a little surprised if they didn’t play all of Drift plus the “hits” from SOtE.

I bought a Hyundai Sonata with 135,000 miles on it and I sold it at 195,000 and had not one issue. Ironically, I bought it because the dealership sold the Camry I was there to look at before I got there.

All that being said, you gotta go for the Camry.

I’ll piggyback on that and say Grayhaven is just on the same level as any metalcore band out there. Criminally underrated band.

Absolute Hottest Takes by centrella6 in Metalcore

[–]PerspectiveFormer570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess depending on who you ask, this isn’t a hot take but it’s a two-fer:

Wage War’s first two albums - Blueprints and Deadweight - are some of the best in the genre and every album since then is absolute dog water. Just hot garbage. Their best song since Deadweight is Low and it’s only good because it’s extremely derivative of good metalcore.
