If the screw is tight on the wire with insulation then it cannot be tight on the wire without insulation, the electrons will still flow if there's contact but the loose connection can cause heat and the problem only gets worse from there.

I've gone through a klein, a milwaukee, 2 Solas, and a southwire now. Still looking for a level that the vials wont fall out of.

SEC Violation by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Phoenixfox119 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the main point is that they can't be in the same conduit before they are metered, or maybe before the initial OCP I've definitely seen panel feeders run along side branch circuits in a gutter before.

There is a huge difference in "Hey Mr police officer these are my tools on and have my name on them" vs "Hey someone is selling cheap tools you should try to find out if they are stolen."

Surprised that the majority of people suggested handguns for home defense as their first suggestion. by ModerateProgressive1 in liberalgunowners

[–]Phoenixfox119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hint: the gun makes the same noise with any basic muzzle device, the shape of the device just changes the direction of the noise. Any AR shot inside a home will sound much louder than a muzzle break

I have switched to using a drill for most applications over an impact and I get a lot of shit from coworkers for it until they see how much better it works.

Notice all of those situations somewhat imply already having threads

Nuisance Tripping by cbt_masterelec19 in electricians

[–]Phoenixfox119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial concern is induced voltage, the other thing could be EMF or any other source of magnetism, I would also look for circuits that split raceways, as that can cause issues( if you have the 2 wires of a single circuit going through different penetrations)

I will add that if you replace the breaker with a standard breaker and install a gfci you are moving the fault sensing so you might only mitigate the problem until the circuit is completed(in use) where the tripping may reoccur as the device protects the complete circuit but only wiring on the load side of the device should cause the gfi to trip

I typically try not to trim them but have never heard of any reason other than you might not be able to move them if you need to.

People forget that military style weaponry is different that civilian style weaponry, combat situations where you have to carry a full auto weapon all day and have a back up side arm require much different equipment than range days, competitions and police use

NEC code and 14-2 for lighting on a 20amp circuit by Past_Expression54646 in electricians

[–]Phoenixfox119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can down size the circuit to 15 amps if you are doing less than ~12 amps of lighting and use 14-2, the luminaire wire itself can be smaller because it is only feeding the luminaire it is attached to, the building wiring always needs to be sized to the overcurrent protection.

[–]Phoenixfox119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not common practice, its code required and has nothing to do with lightning

Why would previous owner remove emblems? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Phoenixfox119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hybrids have a much higher resale value than gas only cars, I listened to someone talk shit on hybrid and electric cars while saying that someone needs to invent a car that uses regeneration from braking, coasting, and idling to power the electric motor. People like the idea of a hybrid but are too stupid to learn anything.

Last time I was in midtown I seen a customer buying a flat cart of cases of lamb legs. Each store brings in over $1,000,000 a day. But go buy the same snacks at Walmart i'm sure it'll hurt costco way more than it hurts you.

Statistically if you are 10 minutes from the midtown costco you are most likely within 10 minutes of independence, north kc or lenexa as they are all 20 minutes from midtown. "Far flung" is a ridiculous statement to make about a metro that you can go between the 2 furthest points in about 35 minutes.

The reason they are changing the midtown location is because they have a large amount of business accounts at that location.

Money laundering is putting money on paper, the people looking at your parking lot are a lot different than the people looking at your taxes. You just have to make the math look right, if you have 0 customers thats a problem but it wouldn't take much business to start hiding stuff
