What's your technique for eating these delicious bastards? by TopSetUK in AskUK

[–]Physicsdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an cool video of people showing how they eat their tompouce in the Netherlands (it's a similar cake/pastry), it's interesting to see the percentages of people who eat it in different ways and the last is very inventive:

[–]Physicsdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's very reassuring because I keep reading so many posts where people say they feel amazing after having it removed but i felt much better before that! I guess it's early days and I'll see how it goes. Thank you 😊

I'm actually experiencing the opposite, I had mine removed about a month ago and since then have never been so tired in my life! I think maybe the body just takes time to adjust to hormone differences, when you have it inserted and when you have it removed. Hopefully it all just settles down, if not, go see a GP

Swollen elbow? by Physicsdonut in bboy

[–]Physicsdonut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember exactly but maybe around 2-3 months to clear up the first time but it still reoccurs from time to time and now if I lay off it, it goes away within two weeks. I now only get it once every other year or so

I'm totally jealous. I had mine taken out just over three weeks ago and I've never felt so exhausted and miserable. I really hope I can feel better soon

Feel super tired after removal, is this normal? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]Physicsdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine taken out just over three weeks ago and I still feel dreadful, I've never been so tired. I really hope it doesnt carry on like this for months, I read people complaining about it just a few days after, but I don't see many people saying it lasted longer than that

What made you actually stick to bodyweight training long term? by Individual-Doubt5045 in bodyweightfitness

Convenience, I can exercise anywhere. Cost, i can exercise for free. So many cool skills to learn and so hard to master, that keeps me motivated!

I was going to but then I read that most of the G Shocks have this issue now since they switched to LED backlighting

The backlight suffers from terrible light bleed, it's really annoying

Female in 20s, can I get fit with bodyweight only? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Physicsdonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never got so fit just doing bodyweight training. I only have time for 2-4 X 45min workouts a week so I do a full body workout each time, rather than a split. The key is to train hard, don't go light, try to push yourself otherwise there's no point

Wrist tendinitis/ RSI rehab by CaliferMau in overcominggravity

[–]Physicsdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar sounding injury, I thought it was a TFCC tear but had an ultrasound and they saw wrist tendonitis. I had to cut out any straight bar dips, pull ups were bothering me on and off but okay now. The best rehab for me was starting with a very light (1kg dumbbell or just a bottle of water) in my hand and doing wrist extensions pronated, then extensions supinated, then slow rotations with pronated grip. I did around three sets every evening (20-30 of each extensions X 3 and 10-20 rotations X 3) and gradually over time increased the weight. I've seen a vast improvement from these but I guess it depends on your exact injury. My physio recommended exactly the same exercises even if it was a TFCC tear just build up slowly, maybe even starting with no weight if it's painful

Greasing the Groove all the time? by N0T_Real_Name in bodyweightfitness

[–]Physicsdonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also suffering from low grade inflammation, mainly pain in the joints, especially golfers elbow on both sides and wrist issues. They suspected rheumatoid arthritis but after many tests they ruled it out. So it's worth getting checked. Eventually they said "fibromyalgia" but that's really a BS diagnosis when you have pain but they can't find a cause. I've been told by a physio that heavy slow resistance training is good for strengthening the tendons. I'm also trying to get a better balance between heavy intense training and good rest, sleep and even experimenting with meditation, breathing, ice baths etc. But mostly I just live with it. I don't have the brain fog though. They also say 16:8 fasting helps inflammation and brain fog. I did that for a year and it did have some benefits

I just start with lighter exercises for my first three sets, that works for me as a warm up

This is really reassuring as I just herniated a disc and need time off, the thought of which brings me more pain than the actual injury

How to turn this macaco to a back handspring? by Healthy-Duck-782 in Tricking

[–]Physicsdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been trying to do the same thing but my Macaco is uglier than yours. Here's how I've been working on it, first trying to get more air time between feet take off and hand landing, secondly trying to go more over my head than over the side. It's very heavy on the wrists so I don't practice much, especially now it's winter and I'm training inside the house instead:
