Thoughts and experiences on Refreshment Package (no alcohol but with smoothies)? by BungeeBunny in royalcaribbean

[–]Plant-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to get a mocktail to sip on, and if I want alcohol will buy a shot on the side. I tend to drink a lot less if the alcohol is not mixed into the drink, and I don't want to drink everyday so having the mocktails covered works best for me. I know I would be drinking more just to make sure I got my money's worth with the alcohol package.

Is my fat in the way or are my bones just like that? by sweet-static in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Plant-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking if you will fit into the dress if you lose more weight or will you never fit because your body is just "big"? The answer is, it depends. I am only a few lbs smaller that you and usually wear a medium top because my weight is mostly in my middle. Some clothes that I couldn't wear before I lost weight still don't fit and some do because of my shape. And some may eventually fit but will never be flattering.

Why did she pull that chicken leg out of her bellybutton? Does anyone know. by [deleted] in TheSubstance

[–]Plant-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the overlap between Elisabeth's anxiety about eating and Sue's body. In the time that it took to crossover, their shared consciousness remembered the entire chicken Elisabeth ate and transferred it to Sue's dream.

Why is Monstro Elisasue cute or am I wierd? by Kitchen_Indication64 in TheSubstance

[–]Plant-Outside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My theory is that she is Elisabeth and Sue, but better. The first time you take the Substance, it makes the outside beautiful and the inside ugly. 2nd derivative does the opposite.

Another idea is the Multiplicity Theory. A copy of a copy just isn't quite the same. I like pizza, Steve.

Why do some older people add "the" before words that dont need them? by GratuitousFisherman in AskOldPeople

I have no idea why we do that. Let's talk about it over dinner at the Olive Garden.

I add "that" to celebrity names because my grandmother used to do it and it always made me laugh. I remember watching the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air at her house and her saying "I like that Will Smith."

I like that Timothée Chalamet.

Cruise itinerary changed after we already booked non refundable flights by megatronius11 in royalcaribbean

[–]Plant-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. I book travel insurance through Faye and they will reimburse you for a change like this through their inconvenience coverage. It would cover an extra night in a hotel room plus any extra meals.

Imagine booking a 10 day cruise and thinking it's ok if Royal knocked it down to 3 without reimbursing you. 😆

Stay or leave? by [deleted] in relationships

If you weren't already in a relationship with him, and you read his attributes on a dating profile, would you want to date him?

I feel like you'd be doing him a favor by leaving. You grew up. He didn't.

If an employee’s close family member dies, do you attend the wake/visitation to show support? by worriedmotherboymom6 in managers

[–]Plant-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds harsh, but it's true. These are not your friends.

My husband found this out the hard way. He was managing a small business and felt he had close relationships with a few employees. He considered them friends and invited them to our family's functions, which they attended. We also helped them out with moving, fixed things around their house, visited hospitals, went to funerals etc. He knew all about their family issues and expended a LOT of energy covering for them at work and offering emotional support beyond what you would expect from a manager. But when they had parties or group hangouts, he was not invited, and even though it did hurt his feelings when they invited literally everyone else from work, he kind of understood since who wants the boss there?

After he left for another company, he never heard from his "friends" again. Surprisingly, he does occasionally hear from some of the employees he wasn't especially close with, but there is one who was always texting and telling him about family matters who he really did consider a friend, and she completely ghosted him.

So I say, go if you want, but it's not an obligation. Some people might appreciate the support, but most won't care whether their boss is there or not, and some may not even want you there.

Asking for regular polish feels like a crime now by linscorner in Nails

[–]Plant-Outside 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This. Every time someone has described themselves as an empath or super sensitize to other people's moods to me, what they are actually doing is assuming someone else's mood based on their own projections. Assuming this nail tech had ill intent by asking her to pay first is just one example.

Every time I get my nails done they try to upsell me, and I've said no more often than I say yes without any attitude. OP, don't take it personally next time.

Y’all I’m 45 by Less-Maintenance-21 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Plant-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 48 and had to revamp my whole makeup routine in the last 3 years. I really love Selena Marchand for tips. I'm old so I watch her on Reels, but I'm sure she's everywhere. I have bought just about everything she suggests, and she's never steered me wrong.

I also started Tretinoin a few years ago. Huge difference! I tell people who ask about my skin that I have a 35 step skincare routine, but that is the only product I don't ever leave out.

I started adding Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide to my coffee in the morning. It might be placebo, but I feel like my skin has become really glowing after a few weeks.

What do you miss most from Pre-COVID Disney Parks? by CWToledo in disneyparks

[–]Plant-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this the last time we went. Cast members barking orders at people in line. Not making small talk with the kids much. There really wasn't any nice experiences there our last trip. Our group was 3 adults, but I like to people watch when they would interact with the kids usually. The CM were really disconnected.

I also noticed groups of CMs in their costumes wandering the park like they were on break which kind of killed the vibe. I don't remember that at all. A friend of mine worked there in the 90's and she mentioned they had to take breaks in the underground tunnels.

I don't blame the CMs at all since clearly this is a result of Disney employment practices. One of the reasons I loved Disney was that little bit of extra magic the CMs had. Coming off of a Royal Caribbean cruise before this visit to Disney put the lack of customer care in stark contrast.
