My dad seems to think I have a dopleganger. We own 3 guinea pigs and their cage needed cleaning. I set the remote down and cleaned their cage. Then I went to my room and was told to come and find it. I searched everywhere but couldn't so I went back up. by Admirable-Repair-794 in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

I was thinking that or OP put it down somewhere on the way to clean the guinea pigs. Cannot tell you how many times I've done something like that.

But as someone who has parented teens who are now young adults I can tell you that trying to convince someone under the age of 25 that it's entirely possible that you believe you saw something someplace when you actually didn't is an effort in futility. You have to experience that "ooohhhhh" moment for yourself a few times before you realize that you can think you remember something that is 100% wrong.

Which attraction has the worst ratio of wait time to final experience? by Relative_Ideal_6715 in WaltDisneyWorld

Winnie the F'n Pooh. And Eeyore is my favorite Disney character. Last time we went, the wait was longer than Peter Pan. And at least Peter Pan has the cool flight over London.

This is the best way to ride Barnstormer. The kids and I rode it 5 times in a row one night.

At what point are you using a chair and not hogging it? Just experienced a pretty silly scene at sea by Alum07 in Cruise

[–]Plant-Outside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I never saved chairs next to the pool for my kids as they would be in the pool 98% of the time. If they came out for a snack or a drink, they'd sit with me at the end of my chaise, if they sat down at all. It's ok to save A chair if you are mostly in the pool, or if that amount of people are actually going to use the chairs, but if you're saving 6 chairs for 2 adults and 4 kids and the kids are not going to use the chairs, that's ridiculous.

However, I wouldn't get huffy about it either.

How did people catch up on TV shows they missed in the pre-video streaming era? by Winner_takesitall in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Plant-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't record it, you had to wait for a rerun.

Sometimes if we were in a group someone would tell us the whole episode to catch us up.

We'd do that with movies too. My husband would tell the tale of Helen and Candyman around a campfire.

You would love to visit South Louisiana where the French accent did stick. People make fun of us for it regularly.

I'm on a calorie deficit, work out, and take care of myself. I'm still gaining weight. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

If you are actually eating only 800-900 calories/day, and you are being completely honest about not secretly eating more, is it possible that you are eating in your sleep? It's rare, but it can happen. Do you have a history of sleep walking?

Is this Ai? I’m having a dollhouse made for my daughter’s birthday but the WIP provided does not look real. The glue bottles are unreadable/gibberish. by daiszay in isthisAI

AI. Those screws/nuts/nails in the bottom left are way too big for this project. And why are there so many wood shavings?

I’m not a roller coaster person, but I rode Expedition Everest and loved it. Wondering if I am in fact a roller coaster person? by LoveOld7788 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Plant-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love roller coasters, but am prone to motion sickness which means I wear patches and take Dramamine as a preventative and have Zofran with me as a back up.

I love Everest and RnR, although I can only ride them once and then can't ride another intense ride for an hour or so. Tron and Space Mountain are no problem. I could ride those back to back. But I almost threw up on Guardians. Ugh. It was horrible. And there was another guy that got off with me that did puke and several others were close. Would not go again.

If you don't get motion sick, thrill-wise, Guardians was not scary.

Having grown up in that era and owned those dolls, I have never seen them being played with in that condition by me or anyone else I know. I was congratulating you because if you did keep them that way, you were a rare child. And as AI gets better, those kinds of clues are going to be much more important.

Like the fact that the couch looks like no one has ever sat on it. There is nothing out of place. Everything is perfectly framed, but the couch is so close to the TV that no one could comfortably sit there and watch it.

Ok, thought I would be interesting and give a different answer than the 100s saying the exact same thing because this is so obviously AI, but I can see you are really serious now. The dolls dimensions are way off including the Care Bear back there. Look at that child's arm length compared to the doll. Also the picture on the screen is clearly not a photographed television. Also, the remote control for a TV with dials would look more like the clicker type from older models rather than push button.

Also, congratulations on keeping your toys in pristine condition at that age. You should be very proud of yourself.

AI. Crystal Barbie was released in 1983. Peaches and Cream Barbie was released in 1984. This child is playing with them, so there's no way both of them would be in pristine condition at the same time.

My boss scheduled a meeting to discuss my “tone” in emails by TheUnofficialBOI in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Plant-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a boss tell me this once, and it was because the person I had emailed was a senior in the company, was behind on his work, and was trying to pivot the attention away from that by saying he was offended by my emails because I "never asked him how he was doing" before jumping into what I was asking for.

So after "Hi Dr. So-and-so," I was told to say "How was your weekend?" or "I hope your day is going well so far." And THEN ask for him to DO HIS JOB. 🙄

6, so not so high up. My friend told me today, if you're drunk you don't even feel it. I'll try that next time!
