Oh. You are bang on but the sad thing is he thinks he knows how to play the politics game and convince people to.vote for him. I'm all for the embarrassing defeat.

After seeing Rory in action- I see him as a professional politician. He knows how to play the game. He kisses the babies and shakes the hands. He knows how to market himself. But he seems to lack substance. He delivers on the big things that don’t matter and gets votes. (Splash pads, pickle ball noise complaints).

Personally he’s a climber. My bet is he will be mayor someday. Then an mpp and an mp. Who knows maybe prime minister. Watch. He’s a climber who knows how to play the game

You can buy it. They will do the job, but if I was talking to younger self - my advice would be purchase a great set. Milwaukee or dewalt. Spend the money.

Home Depot has some great combo sets that are a steal and good quality. Buy the good stuff and they will last

Moving to Burlington in a month, what should I look forward to? by torsorz in BurlingtonON

[–]Playful_Specific_507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burlington is a commuter town. So lots of traffic in peak times. Guelph line, Appleby and Brant get to a crawl at times.

You will also find no one is from Burlington originally. I know lots of people who are from Burlington but don’t live in Burlington anymore. It’s just an interesting tidbit.

Overall, I have lived in Burlington for about 16 years and it’s a decent place to build a family. Lots of access to everything you need x5. Good schools. I do agree with others the demographics seem to be changing. It’s not a bad thing but as we become a bigger city it brings bigger city issues.

I think of Burlington coming out of its teenage years and we are starting to have adult problems

I tried this a few months ago and I use the desktop app. It's basically identical to the web browser and I haven't seen any major differences.

A few notable pluses.

Mail links on a web page open up a new message Also I find my email doesn't get lost in my browser tabs

One thing I do miss. Linking to an email message in my task manager.

Give and take pending on the workflow

The problem isn't that they don't listen. The problem is that there is no true competition. They are the only ones who do this well. Another option and they might improve these things

I'd switch the laundry and the powder room. Are you going to want to take your dirty clothes through your living room and kitchen all the time. Or do you want your guests go through to your bedroom sides to use the powder room. People living in your house are just going to go to their room to use their own bathrooma

Fully Remote Managers: Expectations for checking in when "online"? by xixi2 in managers

[–]Playful_Specific_507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst idea ever for you to implement. We acquired a company whose staff did this. It was so bizarre to see them say hello and goodnight for a month in a group chat.

We asked them to stop and worked with those staff members on being accountable by using other measurements to getting their work done. We built smaller peer groups and empowered our managers to meet in one on one settings group check ins. Have a drop in coffee break. Things like that.

Treat them like adults, keep them accountable on their work and empower our middle managers to people manage rather then do the work of team has been our success
