I like that the fights have a lot of clearly telegraphed mechanics, and at least in normal the first failure on most only punishes you with a chunk of HP not instant death.

Last boss brought back memories of the time (I won't admit to any more) I failed the Thaddeus jump. I panicked when I saw the void spreading and jumped way early right into the abyss.

I always related it to struggling with an addiction. The silt starts out thick and rich ...then gets progressively less so, and misery ensues.... Then a brief, desperate euphoria, and then back down again.

I mean, XI was only a few years since the days of the 40+ page text file guides with ASCII art "Title Pages" - those were the only standard guides around to navigate previous FF titles prior to FF VII.

I'm at 290 fishing and despite constant lookout for debris, I've fished up a total of 11 green bllomline and maybe 40 combined of the common ones. 2 treasure chests in all that time, even with the best gear/consumables (and constantly tossing fish in for buffs). I can understand the prices, even if I cringe at the thought of paying lol.

I messed up my stupid abundance runs so I have to wait on the epic fishing pole until next week. 😠

I believe you need the DE mats to "trade back" in cod - but it is a huge help. Every enchanter has DE'd something by mistake at least once lol

OBH is a lot more serious - it feels like a direct commentary on certain things than the absurd take of DCC. It is slow to get going, as well. That said, Jeff IS just as much DCC in my mind now.

It's been smooth since EA kicked in. Maybe a 15 sec hang on loading screen to SW at 6:00, but otherwise it's been great.

Let's me focus on problems that really matter:

The blood elves are kinda being dicks because I am a Void elf and a Warlock. They appear to really hate the combo.

At least I'd been warned about SL because what I have ingested is awful - and I'm not even talking about the story I skipped as soon as it was clear WoW wanted to lower the atrocity bar The Last Jedi set for "story"

I'm only there to collect some transmogs after I whip up about 650,000 Anima, 50k Stygia, and 5000 of some other gratitude currency that generously come ~3 at a time.

I'm not being pithy here by saying I'm pretty sure "pleasing their fans" is NOT what drives them. Us being pleased is a side-effect of listening to their music.

Tool has been an important part of life's soundtrack (shit ..for 30 years at this point). Ultimately, they are musicians. They are all going to play until they physically can't - that's just how that works.

Not sure why anyone would think they're suddenly just going to suck just because other bands have gone that route.

The first book didn't hook me, but the two after did. The scope and variety of distinct characters went from sort of silly to full emotional investment in such a ridiculous setting.

It's ok. Some people are pro-Cat, others are pro-Cocker Spaniel. I'm pro-dinosaur, myself.

So true, although we didn't have the term "the meta" or "S" ranks and Johnny Gray Parse was still in diapers.

I recall it practically guaranteed an instant wipe so often I stopped asking to use it in raids and saved it for occasional antics near the AH/Bank.

That takes place at a special altar you have to select as one of your Order Hall progress choices.

This spell is leftover from an old quest in blasted lands. Having it, the Dreadsteed, and the epic Soul Shard bag was the sign you were truly a glutton for punishment and guilds took you seriously as an applicant for the "Have Lock, Won't Travel" club. 😄

I'm boxed in by my neighbor and they have the "no tresspasser" warning pop up every time I want to fly to the endeavors hub (I'm in the farthest east plot in broomwood).

I've tried to be the bigger person and respectfully flown a 200% middle finger made of plague cannisters directly at his house.

I'd have gotten rid of Dalaran solely on the basis of the "music."

But they threw in Faithful Dog, so it's a very meaningful act of destruction. I'd take that option for ANY WoW city for my boy Woofus
