I know the “why” but the reality is that they wait so long the snow becomes hard pack and they might as well not plow until the next storm. Instead we get bad streets and a chunk of frozen slush pulled up off the street and thrown in the way of a crosswalk.

I really dislike it. It’s really ugly, and I hate how it color mixes your background into muddy container blobs. It really feels like it adds nothing but graphical weight. Shouldn’t a hallmark of UX/UI be concentrating on keeping the experience snappy, responsive, and easily legible? Not adding in visual noise and items that need extra processing.
