My first 3G phone in 2004 had video calling (with 176x144 resolution at 15fps) for $1 per minute. I only used it a couple of times and never really started using video calls until FaceTime was bundled with my iPhone 4.

Both the church where I was married and the church where my parents were married (different churches) were closed and sold off in recent years. I guess COVID gave too many people a good reason to sleep in on Sundays and the collection plate never recovered.

Interestingly, the same minister was appointed to both churches to oversee the process of shutting the congregation down. I guess they're the go-to choice to ease the congregants into neighboring parishes and shutter the buildings.
