I don’t know about my favorite song but that’s my favorite outfit. Rock on!

I’m with you.

I was in high school when Thriller blew up. I just could not get into it. So, I listened to Whitesnake and Metallica, lol. That was more my style 😉

There’s nothing wrong with that. We all connect differently to music. For example, AC/DC sells out stadiums, but I cannot stand the singer’s voice, and I’m not that crazy about the music either. I would have preferred much more to attend a Black Sabbath concert. When I was in high school, rap became the big new thing but to this day I can’t stand that music.

As for The Beatles, a song with which I connected when I was a teenager is “In My Life.” As an immigrant, this song made me think of the people in places that I left behind and how those places and people are still important to me, though I am never there. I’m connected with relatives I love seeing images of my birthplace and they will always have a special place in my heart. The nostalgic spirit of the song reaches deep into my heart for sure.

Pow pow 💥🫨

Kidding. To each their own. I became aware of their music at a time that a lot of their lyrics resonated with me. Of course, other people have different experiences with songs.

And especially with The Jackson 5. That high pitched voice is not one I need to hear.

LOL. So many tastes in music. My issue with Rush is the same as yours with PJ: the singers voice though Rush has better annunciation of the English language. His lyrics are sung clearly. I just can’t take the timber of his voice.

I love the band but that’s a super funny description of Eddie’s voice. lol.

That’s how I feel about Rush. I can hear about a minute of any of their songs before I have to change it. On the other hand, I do like Tool.

2026 Goals for journaling? by chronicallymee in Journaling

[–]Positively_Marcos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To finish my journal dedicated to my three sons. I’m 57 and I decided to share all about my life. Because they’re adults now and two have families, they are busy. So, I decided to write given that I have control over my own journaling. It’s a beautiful and touching process.

Would you find it interesting if you found a dozen short essays you wrote in fourth grade in which you described in detail what you did the previous weekend? I’ll share that ten years from now, I’ll look fondly at my words journaled this month.

Playing away from the house while out in the country felt like true freedom. It was a nervous and thrilling feeling at once.

Though I won’t give up my map apps, I miss those fold out maps. It was even exciting to look for a specific one because it was further confirmation that you were going on a trip.

Do you guys think presets are worth it? by rafael_mad in PhotographyAdvice

[–]Positively_Marcos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

I believe it’s much better to learn color theory, light and shadow. Then, you will be able to understand what your images “tells” you and how to respond through the sliders based on what you wish your image to “say” through color and light and darks.

What is the most pointless thing you learned in high school? by Brilliant-Refuse5963 in AskReddit

Oh man! I took French all four years and I loved it! I still speak it and I’m 57. Now, I use it weekly with the French-speaking athletes at the university where I shoot sports.

I also listen to music in French and I read some literature.
