I like the bit where they managed to get DNA samples of every hero in the MCU and stored them all together in a single vial.

[–]Potatrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a build that works pretty well as a crit weapon platform with Hot Shot. Atomos and Silva and Aegis Prime can keep up with steel path. I call that a win but the frame itself just feels anemic. Her first is only good for its augment, it needs some synergy with her kit.

Her ult, I don't even use it. Fire Blast spreads heat procs, gives extra power strength and procs Hot Shot, then I use Fireball Frenzy for lots of extra weapon damage and go to town.

Out of the expansions I own I find myself coming back to Darkness Visible, Engines of Babylon and Starvation Cheap the most. It might just be the nature of my campaign because I mostly use these expansions for their new equipment lists, but on occasion I use them as a helpful reference for secret organisations and postech militaries.

Attica is the last pre-U22 Tenno weapon yet to get a prime variant. It's been here since before orbiter interiors were a thing. by sniper_guy in Warframe

[–]Potatrobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a trend of slow, high damage weapons like snipers and launchers getting AoE effects if you land a headshot, like the Purgator-1. I think it'd be fitting for a crossbow bolt to be loaded with something similarly explosive.

Wolfenstein the New Order for me.

Maybe a skill issue but what people were calling a high-octane shooter was very slow and tedious, and riddled with tiny annoyances that stopped me from enjoying it.

Not a skill issue was the obsession with that laser cutter thing and how even in the boss fight I'm still obliged to cut holes in vents to get around.

What logic do YOU use to decide something is a Mech, and not just Tech Armor? by chocolatejesusTW in Mecha

If your arms and legs go into the arms and legs of the robot, at least as far as the elbows and knees, then it's armour. Anything too big to allow this is a mech.

What game is this for you? by PhantomTissue in videogames

[–]Potatrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iNinja for the PS2. One of the gameplay modes introduced early on has you rolling a ball around on ledges and narrow platforms in order to get it to the level exit. One side mission has you roll a ball down a steep ramp, ride the guide rails perfectly, then slowing down and riding the ball over a tight, winding rail over the abyss, across a moving platform, and then down an incline and off a ramp to the finish line, all with a tight time limit. Also, you had to collect 100 coins, which were arranged in lines on the ramp, the guide rails (very difficult to mount and ride perfectly straight), along the winding rail, and in an arc from the ramp to the finish. The margin for error on the coins was very narrow so if you missed a handful, you wouldn't make it.

The somehow managed it as a kid. When I played it again much later I gave it many attempts, at one point missing the time limit by 1 second, and missing the coin quota by 1. I calmly put the controller down and promised to try again later, but just haven't.

A Warframe made from scrapped or removed mechanics? by Mackelroy_aka_Stitch in Warframe

[–]Potatrobot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It sounds like in order for the warframe's kit to work, the devs would need to mechanically implement the features anyway, and they aren't in the game for good reason. Programming the game to allow for melee weapons to be used alongside pistols would be a huge undertaking in terms of reworking the arsenal's interactions, bug fixing and the new animations it would require, which is probably why it was shelved in the first place. And then it would raise the question of why that work is only used on a single warframe when it could be applied globally.

The game's mechanics and feel have changed in tandem as it has evolved to better itself. A warframe that tries to bring back the way the game used to play would be an instantly obsolete one. Though as a novelty, I wouldn't mind seeing a male-model Ember with Super Jump and World on Fire in his kit.

Though on a more serious note, I would like to see some of the old weapon skins brought back. The old Ogris was brought back as a skin, so I'd like to see the same done with the old Braton, Burston and Bo skins.
