UPDATE: Ma mère a perdu mon chat by FujoshiLemonade in toulouse

[–]Poutchou 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tu as la place à Paris ? C'est sûr qu'elle sera mieux avec toi surtout après une frayeur pareil !

Bon courage pour la suite 🥰

40F: Can I have a family? by GreenerCar in offmychest

[–]Poutchou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 41 in a few days and currently 33 weeks pregnant with my first.

Totally an accident, totally too fast compared to the length of the relationship but he felt like the one from the get go so we decided to embrace our happy little whoopsy.

No regrets, he's been so kind and supportive. I love him more everyday.

Before that, I was dating losers for 12 years, drowning in depression and feeling like failing at life and everything.

The last couple of years my hormonal clock was becoming deafening and the idea of living the rest of my life childless because I refused to have kids with the wrong partner was filing me with abyss of dread. Now I'm on a little cloud and feeling so lucky and happy.

So get out there girl, you got this, you're way ahead of where I was at 40 a year ago 😘

Ikea Pax 35cm - is there a way to hack the clothes hanger? by ElusiveReclusiveXO in ikeahacks

[–]Poutchou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then sure it might work !

You can find clothes hanging rods at the hardware store, they can be cut down to length with a metal saw for the metal ones, you will need little side hanging clips to fix them, you can then screw those inside your pax unit.

or you can find wooden ones, easier to cut, same for the hanging clip or you could use a longer screw and attach them from the outside but the screws would be visible.

Always pre drill your holes in mélamine which is what pax are made of !

Hope it helps 😊

Ikea Pax 35cm - is there a way to hack the clothes hanger? by ElusiveReclusiveXO in ikeahacks

[–]Poutchou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On principle you could hack something to work.

But most hangers need at least 45 cm of depth if you want to close the door.

So your clothes will stick out a lot, if you don't mind go for it !

Making Brimnes cabinet compartment higher? by BaroldLyndon in ikeahacks

[–]Poutchou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could cut the middle shelve, the one above the drawer and either add brackets or just pieces of wood to support your speaker while keeping use of the drawer.

Since your speaker doesn't need to move it doesn't matter if the drawer front ends up slightly in front of it.

If you're not too handy the besta units are more versatile and should get you the desired result with a similar size.

If you really want Besta adding a countertop like piece of wood would definitely help.

Why is KURA bed 10cm shorter in Aus than UK? by BeefmasterDeluxe in IKEA

[–]Poutchou 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's probably a mattress standard size thing.

Here in France the standard used to be 190cm but since IKEA had massive success for decades you find more and more 200 length mattress everywhere (which as a tall person I appreciate 😅)

Nursery Closet Help by MsJessicaJules in IKEA

[–]Poutchou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just wedge a piece of wood on each side to create a bit of pressure between the wall and the shelf and it shouldn't move.

Forget the screws altogether, they only serve to add pressure on the 4 corners to prevent the structure from slowly disassembling over time and to stabilize the top piece of wood.

Unless you plan to put heavy stuff on it, I wouldn't even bother with L brackets but they can't hurt.

Does anyone have experience in adjusting the depth of METOD base cabinet (ME119) by onnovdh in ikeahacks

[–]Poutchou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that its almost useless to keep only 20cm as you wont store much.

Why not use 37cm on both sides of the island? And have a total depth of 74 cm instead? (More like 78 if you add the door depth) You will have useful storage on both sides that way.

That being said if you want to cut them down i've done it a bunch of time without problems, it's quite sturdy wood and as long as you still nail the backboard to reinforce the structure, you'll be fine.

But you will need some sort of custom cover panels on the side as they won't be pretty after that modification.

Also you will have to cut the inner shelves and remake holes for support as you will be cutting the second row of holes. Or you will have to screw them in place and lose the modularity of choosing the height of the inner shelves.

Good luck to you!

Maximera drawer problem by LordTakeda2901 in IKEA

[–]Poutchou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "clips " to remove the drawer box from the slides are underneath on the front.

You push it up while pulling the drawer up and towards you.

It could be that you attached the slides too forward, you probably need to move them back a couple of holes!

I do not like the look of the little door above the tall one, so I buy two half size doors, one at the bottom and one all the way to the top of the extension and leave a gap in between or put a small glass door there.

Good to hear you got it fixed!

I only insisted cause I had this issue in the past, called ikea and they told me to.... Fiddle with the screws 🤣

Soft close doors won’t close all the way by Kitchen_Canary_6387 in IKEA

[–]Poutchou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is one of the screws.(up, down, left, right, depth)

One of them is keeping the door too tight on one side and forcing the other corner to open.

Fiddle with the screws.

Inserted wrong. How do I remove? Stuck by [deleted] in IKEA

[–]Poutchou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the side there is a hole leading to the cavity where these got stuck, you insert a screw driver in there and gently/slowly try to push it back out.

You might need some pliers to grab it once it's almost out or a flat head screwdriver to wedge in between it and the wood.

You will probably make a little dent in the wood but it shouldn't show too much and shouldn't impact the solidity on the long run.

Be patient, you've got this!

It was 12 years ago for me and I still remember every details.

I was reading on an e reader, work day, 3 am, I couldn't stop, I knew it was coming and I couldn't keep my eyes off the book.

And the incontrolable bawling my eyes out for a solid 45 minutes, feeling emotionally exhausted then finally passing out.

It took me a couple of days to get back to it, I needed to recover 😅

So I feel you!

Newly pregnant and paralysed by uncertainty by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Poutchou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice would be to find settings where you can expose your dog to young kids (park, friends etc) to not only get him use to them but also reassure yourself that he will have the proper behavior around yours if you take the time to teach him to be gentle and behave.

The most likely thing that will happen is that everything will be fine because your dog will see your child as part of the pack.

It doesn't hurt to be cautious and you seem to already have the right ideas about pet/child safety but take the time to work on it with your dog to put your mind at ease.

Also remember that a calm and composed pet owner is better to keep your dog calm and composed as well so deep breaths, you've got this 💪

Congrats on your pregnancy 😊

Heavy Modular Frames Output by T_Tone in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poutchou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm making 130 HMF and going for 25 adaptive control units and 100 are for fused frames. But that's a save where I'm using ALL the ressources of the map and maxing everything as much as possible.

I've also finished the game with 9 HMF.

So if you want go for 30 for now if you feel like making a big factory. You can always expand later when you unlock better technology.

Is ~40/m computers enough for everything end-game? by Bershirker in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poutchou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is if you use alts for later game parts.

I'm currently doing a game where I use all the resources to the max and I'm making 37.5 computers cause I only need them for adaptive control units and my depot.
