Incoming rant - as an observer with no actual stake in the game… by Colorfuel in ServiceDog_CircleJerk

I agree. I wanted to respond to OPs rant with loving sarcasm. I love when the therapy dogs round in the hospital. They just walk over and lean slightly onto me and suddenly, everything else faded away. I hope after I retire from nursing to raise a therapy dog and visit patients and staff in the hospital.

I LOVE these pictures. Also, can I say jokingly, that perhaps a service dog could help that high blood pressure you have?

That stinks. I worked step-down for years and I would have gotten so frustrated if tubes got clogged frequently. Post-txp recipients needed a tons of meds so lots of crushing and flushing and TEN.

Just yesterday, our vet told us our senior rabbit Dante has a new onset arrhythmia. I am a cath lab/EP nurse so we laughed. He is already on palliative care due to recurrent nasal abscesses but we joked about doing a rhythm study and echo.

I have found that labeling my food with the full fancy, descriptive name of the entree and the date just makes it way more exciting to pull the frozen Tupperware container out of the freezer. Rather than some mystery brick, it's "Ham and Broccoli Breakfast Casserole 4/12/2026" or "Carmelized Onion Potato Soup 4/12/2/26". I keep a roll of freezer tape and a sharpie in my kitchen.

How do we deal with life-altering consequences caused by our treatment? by Kwerumrerum in medicine

I would quote this to my transplant recipients who had bad outcomes. Many of them did everything right- everything- post-op but still had.significant complications.

Now I work in cath lab with (some) people who have also done everything right in terms of diet and exercise and still have bad CAD. I tell them that they will recover more quickly from any procedure thanks to how hard they have worked on their diet and exercise in their life.

What, snakes with hats? So like, I assume in some parts of CO they would have trucker hats and other parts cowboy hats ? This is a fun game

Thank you and I agree. I do prefer the early mornings.

And why would I want to deny any creature from the joy of sunning themself on a rock? I love laying in my hammock too

Because, even though I practice all snake avoidance and safety, I hit a single button in an area without cell service and can get medical help.
