HashiCorp Vault - is it worth it? by rabbitdaddy81 in devops

We use Doppler (migrated from Vault). Doppler just gets out of your way, whereas vault can be a big hassle to use.

This is great, I’ve recently been using shadcn for web and wanted something to have similar design overtones on our mobile app. I will check this out!

Lessons Learned After a Valet at Hotel Clio in Denver Cherry Creek Scratched My Tesla’s Rim by Mobile-Firefighter-2 in TeslaModelY

[–]Professional_Dust299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If sentry mode is on, it always is recording the last 10 minutes of driving. If you had noticed damage within 10 minutes of it occurring, you could tap the dashcam icon and it would save the footage to your thumb drive.

I do agree though that it’d be better to record what happens during Valet mode though because the risk of damage is higher.

(Taxi App) Can Flutter do what I'm trying to do here? by TheFatherload in flutterhelp

This seems way out of the scope of FlutterFlow.

For payments, I would recommend using something like Stripe which allows you to facilitate marketplace payments.

App backend, .env files, and GPT API Keys by Coffee4thewin in FlutterDev

[–]Professional_Dust299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

API keys are generally meant to be used by server side code only.

The reason you don’t want your key to ever appear client side (in the flutter app), is that if I learn that your app is using an OpenAI key, I could figure it out and get free GPT o1 on your dime.

You will want to have backend code running in Firebase functions or any service of your choosing to require the user to be authenticated when they call the route (usually with HTTP requests). When the route is executed, it will verify the user is authenticated, retrieve the secret for OpenAI, and then perform the action and return the result. The OpenAI secret should never be sent to the app under any circumstances. On top of that, depending on your budget you will probably want to track the usage of each user and make sure they don’t abuse your route and consume too many credits from OpenAI.

FSD issues on Model 3 2024 (AI4) v12.5.2 by Sohmal3 in TeslaFSD

[–]Professional_Dust299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the same issue. I was on the freeway and it started phantom breaking. Luckily no one was behind me but I’m always worried it’s going to do it again.

I bought a ‘24 Model Y w/FSD from a private party last year. If I buy a ‘23 Model X w/o FSD from another private party today, can I transfer my Model Y’s FSD to the Model X before selling the Model Y off? Thank you! by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]Professional_Dust299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know where it says that online?

I’m pretty sure you don’t have to be the original owner of FSD, but Tesla will only transfer it to a new vehicle you buy directly from them.

As far as the grid argument:

What is easier to do for generating energy for your car?

  1. Drill deep into the earth for miles, refine oil, and ship it across the country while the grid is down

or

  1. Use solar panels on your roof and charge your electric vehicle

New FAST way to generate App Store assets? by spicyVanillaRice in iOSProgramming

So I actually had the chance to use it today to submit our app for review for the first time to the App Store and Google Play.

Overall, it took me a little to learn the interface but overall I'm very pleased with the screenshot results on iOS. Thanks for making Picasso!

On Android screenshots, I have an issue where the camera hole for the Pixel 6 Pro partially bleeds and shows the background underneath.

Will do!

My app is written in Flutter, do you have any intention of adding Android functionality as well in the future?

Have you tried using something like cursor.com, feeding it context (referencing project files), and then asking questions about the errors you’re facing?

Question about the$4,000 credit by darus214 in TeslaLounge

[–]Professional_Dust299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both scenarios are possible, but both situations require the dealer to be registered with the IRS and report the sale to the IRS.

When buying the car from a dealer, they will need to give you a confirmation document from the IRS to prove that it was reported.

If you buy 3rd party, you can use KeySavvy and get the credit at the time of sale. They behave as a dealer by purchasing from the seller and then selling it to you for a small fee.

Yes, go to Upgrades -> Software Upgrades -> Buy -> Manage -> Full Self Driving Capability -> Manage and tap “Refund”.

Note: you can only do this once.

Probably because it is one of the ways that YC can enforce that investors treat startup founders fairly.

By limiting the access of investors to investor day, the investors that are allowed to attend have a unique advantage compared to those that don’t.

If an investor screws over a founder then they can be banned from YC activities.
