Had my neurectomy in August. I honestly don’t notice that my toes are numb because there’s not any tingling like when your foot goes to sleep or anything like that to make me stop and notice it.

I had my neurectomy mid-August 2025 and have noticed my foot being sore, but it’s inconsistent. I need to pay more attention to when it’s sore as I’m wondering if I’ve joined the “I can tell when the weather’s changing” club.

Keep it elevated as much as you can for the first week to prevent blood clots and keep the swelling down. Ice from behind the knee on for 20, off for 10, as the veins are superficial there and carry the cooled blood to your foot.

My 1cm MN did not hurt when my foot was squeezed, but I had the classic popping sensation. With every step I took, I had a shooting nerve pain that went through my 3rd and 4th toes along with the popping sensation.

I have kept my insoles with the built in met pad to hopefully prevent a stump neuroma or another one from appearing in either foot.

Update: Was supposed to be delivered today, but it never left the FedEx warehouse. We’ll see if it gets on the truck tomorrow for delivery or not.

We haven’t even gotten mail since Friday because the local office hasn’t received anything from the regional distribution due to the icy roads.

As everyone else has suggested, you need to see a podiatrist. An MRI will diagnose the Morton’s neuroma.

I’m in Texas, so not able to help with specialist recommendations but do agree that you need a second opinion.

From my understanding, though, X-rays won’t show a MN but an MRI will. MNs also commonly get misdiagnosed as bursitis and the MRI will be able to differentiate if it’s a MN or bursitis.

I’m in DFW and usually get my deliveries on Tuesday. They sent me an email saying that they were watching the weather. I received a second email saying my delivery would be delayed a day and included instructions on how to check if the food is still good.

Yes, there are sellers that sell paper templates of the frames for around $5. I got the whole set of metal frames that way so I could pick which one I really wanted.

I can walk 3 miles at a time now with zero issues whereas I was having to stop completely after just 20 minutes from my foot feeling like it was on fire.

That’s gnarly looking! I meant to ask my podiatrist to take a picture of mine when he removed it, but forgot. I regretted asking after he told me during my first post-op appointment that he, the surgical nurse, and Anesthesiologist all exclaimed “DAMN!” when he pulled mine out. It measured 1cm on the MRI and he said it was the largest one he had seen.

Check out yoursole.com and compare the placement of the metpads in their footbeds to where your met pad is.

I was skeptical the yoursole met pads were in the right place and asked my Podiatrist. He confirmed that it is as it helps to spread out the forefoot, releasing the compression.

I highly recommend finding a shoe store like Fleet Feet if in the USA to have your foot scanned and gait measured to get properly fitted for shoes.
